What's it like at Orexo???

I kind of keep up with the Orexo threads since I left a couple years ago. Was hoping things would improve for the people still there but obviously it has not and so sad the management still thinks Zubsolv is a blockbuster

They don’t they keep speaking of it being antiquated and we needed to focus on Modia even though there were no payouts. The new motto is no seasoned reps only kids fresh out of college who probably won’t have the credit card to pay for their out of pocket lunches. Turnover is tremendously high bodies are dropping when I left 4 others left that same week. 90% of the salesforce which isn’t many people is not getting any IC bonus.

The digital therapies are a joke. Management has failed consistently to get another drug to promote and this is a shiny stop gap. New reps should avoid at all cost; even the new in-house developments will be duds.

Ask very direct questions (how much of the field force receives a substantial quarterly bonus, normal territory growth, how does the company expect to grow for each product) and see for yourself.

To the person interviewing watch for the lies they will tell you lie after lie. I heard they analyze if an open territory is still even feasible to hire a new rep so ask about your territory. As the breadwinner in my family I walked away from this company without a job and I have a newborn it’s that bad! There are way better entry level pharma jobs out there! You’ll be stressed to push product you won’t make money on!! They told me it takes 12-18 months to make an IC check after I was there for 10 months but in the interview told me
My territory could easily win presidents circle.

Reading the emails we are steadily regaining vacant rep roles but the thing that concerns me is we are now going to entry level at a speciality level. This does not equate to confidence on any level

Most of the sales force tenure has historically been 6 months to a year for a specialty product; this is nothing new and part of the problem.

I was told about two weeks before I quit from my manager that Craig said in a meeting no more experienced reps would be hired due to turnover and only entry level. I asked how an entry level rep could afford thousands in out of pocket expenses and he didn’t answer me. The disease space needs people with passion and not just bodies I felt like I was chasing doctors down imagine this being your first job. Leadership has lost it if they ever had it!

After the 5th ridiculous interview I withdrew my name for consideration. It must be miserable to have any semblance of a career there.
When I got through my 5th Interview I said to my wife this is it this job will pay well due to the opioid cases rising etc. boy was I wrong and what’s hilarious is the final interview is with Shel and if you look at her LinkedIn she is a third party HR contractor why would we have to interview with her? You dodged a bullet I don’t recommend this company unless you love constant micromanagers ride alongs and not making any commission. Your manager will legit try to sell you on your company car and base salary.

I had no idea Orexo was still in the pharmaceutical industry ? They still have the one product but thought it was generic, anyway the launch was a disaster and I haven’t heard the name in years.
