What is the Roach legacy ?

There are three parts to the Roche legacy that transitioned in over the years, they are:

1. Hire regional directors with huge egos that attempt to motivate using big pharma fear and intimidation tactics over their division managers and reps. This was not the case with Mark Boyd, he was respected. He knew how to manage and motivate and it worked very well for him.

2. Promote reps. to division management positions that aren't ready to manage and are incapable of motivating their reps in a positive manner. Make certain all division managers are not able not stand up to the regionals and speak their opinions when they see mistakes being made for fear of their job being threatened. This was especially true in the northeast and southeast areas of the country along with California.

3. Protect the regionals and division managers when they get into HR trouble through their bad management techniques and ineptitude. Get the HR department on the same page to protect the bad managers at all levels. It's shameful what the southeast regional let his female managers get away with for years. How BS kept his job as long as he did was a lesson in deception. Was absolutely no one paying attention in upper management? The problems caused by the California regional were ignored too long, everyone knew of his unethical treatment of reps. and yet nothing was done to stop his actions.

It didn't used to be this way. The dowward spiral started about 15 years ago. The company culture changed dramatically during the Abercrombie years, and the change was not for the better. After Abercrombie, T. George was just over his head with the responsibility, given a position he wasn't up to. Oaks and Santos were only there to usher out the Boniva group, they were bus drivers that jumped out right before going over the cliff.
 




You nailed it, well said and articulate. Management must have provided an expensive bottle of wine to DNA as thanks for agreeing to clean up the mess, shed the zombies and upgrade to what a commercial organization should be
