What in the world is wrong with GSK?

you sound like someone who has no idea how the FDA approval process works for resources! In the south we call you, dumber than rocks. You deliver Starbucks and Panera bread for a living.
If thats the case then communicate that to your sales people. This company never explains anything. Dont expect people to just know whats going on. Remember communication os key to team work. Do as I say and not as I do is failing your team. Leadership Stop preaching teamwork when you are not a team player!!!!!!

If shareholders only knew how bad things were at GSK, they would NEVER buy the stock. 23 years ago, GSK stock traded at $60 a share. Today around $36. Mostly because of incompetence at the top, and a culture that supports ineffective management, poor leadership and poor sales skills training.

Worst culture in the industry bar none! I just gave my resignation. Been here less that two years and couldn't handle the incompetence from leadership. Selling injectables in a specialty market is not like selling a pill for diabetes or high cholesterol. Leadership here is the worst I've ever encountered. In my short time here I've heard horror stories about the culture and it matches my experience. Would have never left my previous employer had I known how bad things are at this company. For those who are afraid to leave, don't be. Other organizations do not operate the way this one does. The writing is on the wall. Layoffs are inevitable here. We have second rate products. Name one that is a market leader? You can't because we have none! From what I've been told layoffs are a regular part of this organizations history. And we all know the saying of how to predict the future, just look at the past. I'm out of here but wish the rest of you well and the best of luck.

Run by women.

GSK has the most incompetent managers and 'leadership' in the industry. To prove this just look at your region. You probably only have 1 manager out of 10-12 that is actually good at what they are supposed to do. All the rest are just micromanagers or do what they are told by their worthless VP. A vicious cycle of toxic hiring, promotion, and sales approaches that have caused this company to underachieve for decades.

Major problem is the lack of understanding of the specialty market reimbursement math; they need a consultant for this area to develop strategy. Never had a problem in the past, but definitely over the past 5 years.....

This is absolutely true. Spot on. To the OP - how long have you been working for gsk? Only a newbie would start a thread as you did. I understand your frustration but THINGS WILL NOT GET BETTER AT GSK! After 20 years of failure what do you really expect?

There's not much runway left for you at this company. But maybe you and I could work out something ... on the side. You're a man. I'm a man. We're all men in here, just making our way, trying to make sense of this crazy world. Let's cling to that. Let's let that settle in for a minute, you and me, together.

The roofer in my ditches the heavy as shit roof, ditches replaces the truss's with new but rough sawn truss's. Possibly the main beam needs replaced or just planed down to level. New purlins obviously. Then you either keep an iron roof on it, which you would do anyway during the renovation process because it's easy to go on and off with it. Or get a new slate roof that's substantially lighter weight but still a stone roof. Idk I just can't see that roofs weight being supported by anything other than major structural work, its pretty cool though.

Have a look around there is probably a local saw mill that has similar timber or even a tradesman who pulls down old buildings and keeps lots of old timber to sell you people like you.

Why do people stay here at GSK. The place is so dysfunctional. People on my team are so proud to be with GSK for 18 or 20 years.

A number of reasons to stay at GSK range from comfort level in their current position, gaining experience to bridge to another pharmaceutical company or not to far from retirement of 5 years or less.
It does seem dysfunctional here but many pharma companies are dysfunctional in one way or another.
If GSK had a strong portfolio and pipeline, other than a vaccine or two, morale would float upwards.
Things won't change here which is a reflection of it's market price over the past 15 years.
If you don't enjoy your work here take a risk and leave.

Wrong! They stay to fight for social, environmental and economic justice - to rid the world of single use plastic, to end poverty and hunger and create exciting new diseases.

As a very dedicated GSK rep it’s getting more and more difficult to use my character to cover for the lack of support and stupid mistakes this company consistently makes. Complaining is not the answer to the problems but this company needs to own their shortfalls. Some things there are just no excuse. My advice to this company if they want to survive is to be who they say they want their sales force to be. Communication is major problem and they emphasize that when it comes to teamwork!!! Preparation is another. Your sales people cannot lead the way without the timely available resources. I’m devastated at what I see from the leadership and if the customer knew what really existed beyond the rep of character it would be embarrassing and not deserve respect at all. I see an organization that is foolish and sleeping at the wheel and you need to get it together because there are only so many things your sales reps can do to cover you stupidity and poor management and leadership. You end a meeting about staying on the WACA and this means the leadership team also. We cannot be what we need for the patient and succeed as a company unless EVERYONE is on the WACA and in it to win!!!! I cannot do my best for the patient everyday if you don’t wake up and do your part also. Communication, resources and preparation is key to success so get with it GSK leadership!!!! Are you on the WACA to with or not ?
The answer to your question is that GKS hired Andrew Witty and that moron brought in Diedre and the "Lilly Boys".......place has gone down hill ever since until they hired Emma who is doing as good as can be expected with the dumpster fire she was asked to work with.
