Yep, and I have almost 2000 RSUs so worth a bundle. I have been treated better here than anywhere I have worked previously, large and small companies, over 25 years in the biz, female over 50! No, you don't here these stories here because this is a bitch board for malcontents. When you can post anonymously, unchallenged, and want to vent where no one will fact check or call you on your lies so long as you are negative, this is what you get. It's not just the stock that is good. Check out other company oncology pipelines. Check out the koolaid other companies try to sell instead of admitting that times are going to be hard for a couple years and then very specific things must happen for it to turn around.
Yeah, there were some really bad managers and an HR that made it worse, thinking they should always protect the manager instead of properly investigating. Still, the suit was an injustice on many levels. I don't disagree with the dollar amount but it should have only been paid to women who had the guts to challenge the company and who had facts and evidence on their side. A few really horrible situations does not make a horrible company overall and paying all women is wrong and sets us all up for animosity. The only one not protected are white males under 40 and the suit was an overcorrection. Now there are posts about wanting across the board salary increases. Sorry, but I made less for years because I chose the mommy track, willingly, happily, and with planning. My income now rivals any man because of coaching by some great mentors that directed me when kids were grown and I was ready for a different track. We all know, no matter our job or job level, most of our satisfaction or disatisfaction comes down to the manager we report to. I also know many women and minorities who are far too quick to scream discrimination instead of looking at what they could do, say, or present differently. I am VERY thankful for the men who took the time to mentor me through my career and helped me navigate, especially through years when there were babies or priorities ahead of work. Their knowledge kept my career on track when I could have derailed it, or had it derailed. Their knowledge of the game was priceless.
At the end of the day, we spend far too much of our time in our jobs to be miserable. If you're jusst blowing steam, fine. But if you are one of the negative posters and are really this unhappy and this angry, really think the company is evil, than you owe it to yourself to do something else. Different company, different industry, go back to school. Do something besides mud slinging and spewing negativity.
For me, the job is awesome. The oncology products are cutting edge. Gleevec changed so many lives and now cml patients survive as long as non-cancer patients. Tasigna is even better. My pay is incredible. Goals need some work but are never perfect with any company and at least there was a conscious effort to look at what needed to change. My pay is fantastic, there are no prius's here, and this job gives me the ability to take care of my family, buy a new home, pursue hobbies and vacations, and to retire relatively comfortably. I'm proud of what I do. If you aren't, you are hurting yourself far more than anyone else by staying. I hope you find what you are looking for.
