What happen to the FED/GOV people?

Jersey has better people, diversity of cultures, food, colleges/universities, beaches - Jersey Shore, entertainment, weather, government, sports teams, etc., etc. I lived in the Zoo for 3 years and it was mentally and physically draining!
That's why New Jersey is known as the Garden State! Agree that Kzoo is a backwater hick town.

Don't forget the historic district in Cape May - - - absolutely marvelous. As a POC living in Kzoo during the late '80s, it was the worst experience! TUC and Kalamazoo/Portage was such a white male dominated culture that it imploded like the Roman Empire. SHAME on TUC and that is why it no longer exists!!

As a former employee back in the 80's, Upjohn was not a friendly work environment for young professional women. One, there were a small minority of us in the Commercial Division. Two, the Southern good old boys were constantly sexually harassing us. Three, only white males were promoted. Many of us had to leave and go to more progressive and supportive environments.

It was especially tough for LGBQ employees. To be yourself was impossible! Many of the managers were red necks and had no desire for diversity in their business units. Small town filled with Small Minds.

Somewhat disagree with your post. In the MSL organization, there were many folks with LGBTQ persuasions.
