What are the REAL reasons why Reps are leaving ITCI?

Many have left in the SE Region, before their RSUs fully vested. That is telling enough. So many of the original hires are gone. This place just keeps getting better and better. Fact is leadership does not care.

I left that very region. Had nothing to do with the product. Actually feel Caplyta is a great product. Has everything to do with leaderships weekly pressure, constant fear of being put on a plan, and the ridiculous amount of field rides. No place is perfect but intracellular has been taking a page out of the pharmaceutical 1990s handbook since they started and they have not and will not change with the times. Not a place for specialists in the Behavioral Health field.

A lot of Lundbeck and Sunovion reps backfilling open positions and filling new overlay spots. Makes sense for them, but, they will all be looking for better opportunities while employed at ITCI. They will not put up with the excessive micromanaging and leading by fear tactics.

Less than a year in for me here at Intracellular and I’m already walking out the door. Good luck mates!

The force rank system here is bullshit. Putting a quarter of the sales force on written warnings and PIPs every year is downright evil.

Apparently the forced ranks are going away this year and replaced w territory rx goals per quarter. We will see. But the warnings and PIPS are here to stay. It is not “evil”. It’s flawed antiquated business strategy. It’s lazy leadership w short foresight and a simple lack of respect for what we do as sales people. Of course there needs to be accountability in all areas, but, their leadership Philosophy is based on fear and pressure. It is obvious they feel we are all easily replaceable.

25% of the sales force will get a written warning or a PIP. A real motivational tool to have one out of every four people worried about their job all year. This is fun!

Culture….they love to ask about and talk about the ITCI culture. Toxic, fear based, pressure. Heck of a culture. Please, what a joke.

Big pharma motivational tactics circa 1998. Brought to you by the old burnouts in leadership and HR. Why is it people come to a new organization with a blank slate and bring the worst elements of the culture they just left?

Hiring a sales force with an ever age tenure of more than 15 years and then treating them like new primary care reps with two years B2B is stupid. You hired well. You paid better than industry average. Instead of letting us grow the business and build a culture, you dictate every minute of the day and measure every metric. We are better than this stupid company.

Agreed and all of these idiotic decisions come from the top managers (we know who they are). Management needs to be gutted or it will always be this way. There are plenty of other companies who are hiring and have top tier managers who know how to make the right decisions that will benefit sales AND their employees.

You strike me as a very selfless lover. Is that true? Are you a selfless lover?

Thank you for this feedback, I will stay in my current role and not pursue a career with this team. Good luck to all of you, doesn’t sound like you have a management team that supports you.

Leading with fear, forced rankings, 25%pip rate for circumstances you obviously have no control over…too many reasons not to join. Unfortunate as the med seems to be great. I prefer a great drug with a SUPPORTIVE management team.

Just like all other pharm companies. There are some great leaders, some good ones and a handful of duds. All depends on who your leader is (and who their leader is).

I’ve been here over a year now and am fortunate to have a good manager. There are certainly ‘work’ aspects’ to the job but keep in mind that it IS work.

Product is good and data are promising for the future. Still a small company that is having some growing pains, but with the right mix of people, they should get there eventually.

You are making the right choice. This company sucks. Stupid leadership.

That’s a major issue with the culture. Nobody here is getting laid. There is a lack of ‘talent’ in the field. Usually there are a couple of hotties who are also headcases and will drop their panties given a minute of attention. Haven’t seen that so far at any meetings.
