Was there a positive spin on Metabolic?

Yes I work here and don’t know, and nobody in metabolic seems to know either. We are all left in the dark while they make believe that everything is business as usual and set up some kind a weird Synthroid workshop. What are the business rules for Layoff so that we can make our plans appropriately, we 3 months to go.

Chill, NOBODY knows for sure. Enjoy our vacation!!!! You are not really working, are you?

Not sure about Abbvie, but at Abbott it was 1.5 weeks per every year of service. 37 weeks was maximum payout. If you had 20 years you'd get 30 weeks. 10 years you'd get 15 weeks ect.

Thank you for the information, but what if you’re over 60 and you put in let’s say 20 years with the company will there be a compensation for the H because when you’re over 60 no one’s going to hire you for anything

Yes, most certainly it is harder, but a blanket statement like "nobody's going to hire you" isn't accurate. If you have skills or degree you could apply those and find something out of Pharma if you really needed to work. It may be for less money, but nevertheless its income till you hit 62 or 65. Dont sell yourself short Bud. Now go sick em tiger !

Look, its practically impossible to get a job in pharma even over 50, so if you are 60+ FORGET IT !! Don't mean to be a pessimist but that's the way it is. My friend in HR advised me to find a second career, when I hit 52. Its now 3 years later and almost have my masters in education. Will get certified hopefully in two years. Some friends of mine are driving Uber and do very very well. I have heard even some use their company vehicles which should be a no-no.

My advise is plan an exit strategy and start in some other line of work. HR loves the young female newbies for sales positions.

Really ? Primary, secondary, and special education teachers earn an average of $54,740 per year. Elementary and middle school teachers average $56,420 per year and secondary (high school) teachers earn an average of $58,170. Looks like you'll be making 60% less than a Pharma rep. YUK YUK YUK

Advice is spelled incorrectly. You're the douche that also claimed they have a friend in IT dept that you called and they told you no layoffs.
CASE CLOSED KEEP TRYING

That's true, given you work in fly over country. NY, CA, IL, NJ etc teachers routinely earn $125K for secondary school and have 10 weeks off. Teachers unions are strangling the taxpayers but they hold all the cards, for now.

I agree, the pharma shelf-stockers are very well paid but be forewarned the skill level required is barely secondary school level. That's why the HR guys don't look at college degrees they look at body of work.
