DEI is a joke, as is affirmative action. Hiring or promoting someone based on the their race is what causes division (and lawsuits). The ‘woke’ mentality is already starting to backfire. Get ready for it.

I’m pretty sure you’re good with the OVERWHELMING majority of white folks who are in positions solely based on their skin color yet have no business being in their roles. Yet further denialism by blaming the speedometer for the speeding ticket. Promoting and hiring has always been based upon Caucasian comfort and nepotism. It’s ALWAYS made sense to hire based upon skills and ability yet overwhelmingly throughout American history those persons without the complexion for the protection RARELY are evaluated based upon “skills and ability.” THIS is why DEI initiatives are needed. Since you’re in the group that ALWAYS has the advantages and overwhelmingly benefit I don’t expect you to embrace DEI but surely you understand.

You are so right. I mean diversity is our strength for sure. All neighborhoods, schools, government agencies, etc. become infinitely better when POC move in and take over. Just look at Gary, New Orleans, Atlanta, Detroit and Baltimore. Nirvana right there. LA Unified and Chicago Public are two of the top academic scoring school systems in the nation. And things are only getting better. DEI rules!

WOW! Truest post I've read in a while. What's worse are the numerous DEI promotions that set people up for failure because they are not at all prepared for the position. That makes it even worse for minorities.

I wonder what would happen if all the pharma companies just decided one day to shit can the social justice charade and just focus on the business. No more DEI VP/directors/managers. No more rainbow anything. No more bowing to BLM, BIPOC, AAPI, Latinx, or any of the other assorted tribal councils. What would happen? Would the business dry up? Would drug manufacturers be boycotted out of existence? I’ll tell you what would happen. NOTHING. The industry leaders could fire all the HR/DEI Gestapo agents, take their preferred pronouns off their business cards and LinkedIn profiles and focus on innovation and research to develop new and meaningful therapies. Profits would grow and share prices rise. More patients would be helped. Everyone wins!

Your support for DEI is misguided. As a person of color working here, I can assure you it makes it more difficult for sharp hard working minorities to be taken seriously. Quota hires and promotions here have been extremely horrible in many instances. It's holding this company back from realizing our full potential and making it more difficult for me (a person of color) to be taken seriously.

Jodi if I were you I'd look to get out. Many will never forgive you for what you did to Travis and especially Michael Bauer. Bauer was the best. You ruined a career, broke him mentally, hurt his entire team, and for what? Revenge? Job security? You really did a very cruel thing. You may be protected from HR, but anyone who knows the character of the man you hurt will never trust you. Get going. And don't let the paddle hit you on the way out.
 






So many have been fired for no longer meeting cultural Standards. This company is pathetic! It mentally drains a person but the greatest gift to receive is to be released from the bull shit so called leadership, paid to leave, able to draw unemployment and enjoy retirement! A cheerleader is not a manager or a coach they are mouth pieces for insecure senior leadership! The grass is so much greener anywhere else. The gaslighting, DEI, WOKE, LGBTQIA+ NIBBLING BS is not worth any amount of money! I am just gonna sit and watch the turmoil as it continues to percolate and eat my popcorn !
 






They've taken it way too far. Bauer, as one example, was a true professional. He showed total respect to all. One simple slip, which wasn't even bad, and he's treated like a rapist. It's wrong. It's unforgiving. It's managing through fear. And it's privilege- for those evil enough to throw their "class" around to get promoted or seek job security despite poor performance. I'm out as soon as possible. I'm not alone. Just watch. More leaving.
