Viehbacher...Really?

As you probably figured out the trolls from competitors or past employees trying to scare everyone about our new CEO are ridiculous. I do agree with some of the comments regarding certain leaders here but not Chris. I’ve talked to many who have worked under his leadership and how he came across on his first town hall is who he is which is far better and more human than our previous CEO. Yes of course there will be changes. Do not fall into the typical negativity and doom and gloom of the comments. I look forward to the miserable people trashing this positive post. This next year will be challenging then it will keep getting better. For the person who said our R and D sucks - you are clearly clueless.

Clearly you never worked for Viehbacher or felt the wrath of his inept decision making . Let's not forget he was fired from Sanofi which is one of the most dysfunctional incompetent pharms companies ever. Viehbacher went rogue and was doing things without board approval which cost him his job after also running Sanofi off the patent cliff with no plan in place. He virtually destroyed the Diabetes and Cardiology franchises. After he was fired he spent 2 months whining to the media about how unjust the firing was despite his fraudulent activity deceiving the BOD. This guy will I promise you run Biogen right into the ground. Your now at the crossroads of your career as rep with Viehbacher at the helm. This couldn't get any worse moving forward. Flag this post and comeback 1-2 years from now and share your pharma journey with Viehbacher. Good luck to you all. I don't have to tell you you'll need it but your lives are going to be permanently altered. The Prince of Darkness has taken his throne at Biogen

Thank you!

I feel so much better knowing the PR machine is spinning trying to justify this decision vs all the people who have had experience with this sociopath and his “leadership”.

I’m sure we will all rest easy knowing everyone is lying and out to get us.

After aduhelm, it’s not like anyone needs to take us off our game.

The only thing Viehbacher knows how to do is dismantle, reorgs, layoffs. Then he repeats the process. Eventually he gets caught in some unethical behavior and moves on to the next suckered company.

I love the comments on here about how Viehbacher is going to destroy the Biogen culture. Is that even possible? I’m not sure where you go from corrupt, dysfunctional and mercenary.

Viehbacher will inflict as much damage as he can to Biogen to destroy anything left of a culture. Flag these posts and come back in 2 years and tell us how things worked out. Viehbacher is the devil!

That isn’t how the smiling killer works.

he is a numbers guy (clearly not a people person). He will use the current leadership to cut budgets, people, whatever to hit a number. He doesn’t care enough to put people on a list.

this is where your “leadership” shows their true colors as they sacrifice anyone to save their skin.

The best part comes later when these people think they are safe and have proven themselves to Herr Viebacher. Now he goes after them either directly or by bringing in outsiders who take positions or power the old guard thought was theirs.

Viehbacher will inflict his damage as he's done in every company that he destroyed. Sanofi never recovered from his carnage. He rode to the edge of the patent cliff. GlaxoSmithKline he did the same thing. The Smiling Killer as he's known is The Princen of Darkness.

To be fair, Sanofi was already bungling the patent cliff by the time CV came along. There were plenty of idiots doing nothing but riding the Plavix, Lovenox, Lantau bandwagon. They thought Allegra would never lose protection and it did. They thought no one would characterize Lovenox and they did, they thought they would win on Plavix and discounted someone launching at risk. Paris said none of this would happen and the week US leaders fell in line. Having said all that, Viebacher did nothing to improve things after this, nor have any of his successors.

BIIB will go through a lot of change only to come out the other side looking pretty much the same with a new cast of characters at the helm.
