Joke. We gave up tons of money in options to come here, were sold a big lie and the people that were the great reps were canned for being honest and the company with docs and doing the right thing. The big shots thought Incivek was so hot they didn't need reps in big academic centers and they still have the blinder on and earplugs in. the don't want to know the truth from the field so we ll try to lay low and do the right thing just to avoid the wrath of the jerks. Being here sucks. Every day a new low, new lie and if any of us had known the top level management would be so deaf and blind (remember we were sold on the open atmosphere). Conference call was a joke.We are all looking for jobs, get off this sinking ship, ME is great to work for but, the managers take credit for everything the reps do help them with and all they care about is themselves. I'm outta here. This is the least amount of money I have made in 17 years in the industry. And I work 80 hours a week and every night, weekend and holiday. Wife and kids are over it too. Too bad, this company had great potential but, you reap what you sow. Have interviews (NOT during company time, which they think is all their time) and taking a day off to do them. My marriage and family are worth more than this unappreciative bunch of jerks..especially JH. All the good people are already gone. And now our goals are ridiculous so they won't have to pay incentives this quarter. Typical old big pharma games.

Wait until next quarter. I didn't say the money wasn't good, just that I've made more (consistently) in the past and the atmosphere is cryptic. Leaving my retirement money on the table because I had high hopes for our options was a gamble and I'm not blaming anyone except myself. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. The non-compete we all signed is the nail in the coffin for a lot of us that have made a lifelong career in one specialty.

Working hard is nothing new but, when the kids are Skyping to tell you "good night and "love you" on a regular basis, you have to draw a line in the sand and evaluate the ROI. The environment is paranoia accelerated and last time I checked fear is destructive to corporate structure. I want to know what happened to the positive vibes and excitement.

P.S. Your and you're are high school grammar lessons. Insults lacking intelligence mean the joke is on you.

You no skills so you gotta stay. So sad to be you.

Your a joke...my check was 59k. You can leave when you want.

That's just awesome - never seen a quarterly pharma bonus that large. Congrats!

However, you better take a pic of that check and frame it...that'll be the last time you see a payout that high. No way with those 4th qtr goals that you're gonna blow it out to the same degree. Not one rep I've spoken with believes next quarter will be even close.

With that said, sure wish I had pocketed that check

Bonus plans are always developed and managed (at least try) to come in around 100%. Yes, unless the target is 250K per year, no one plans on paying out 59k to a rep, in one quarter. This can be said of any company. Obviously the goals were too low this quarter, and adjustments will be made.

You either don't really work here or your head is so far up your ass you can't think right. You made a choice to be here...no one took away your options. If you think it sucks here...leave. That's your choice too. Only a few reps have been let go, and what I understand is any company would have dismissed them for what they were or weren't doing. If you're working 80 hours a week (another choice) and are getting no results, then you definitely are doing something wrong.

Sorry.... I quoted the wrong post...... But I ask again:
YOU SIGNED A NON-COMPETE???? Seriously?! WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?! With all of the new Hep C products coming out in the next 3-4 years (NON OF THEM VERTEX PRODUCTS), why the HELL would you sign a non-compete?! Did you do NO homework before you signed on??? YIKES!!

Stock rose today on great news that our CEO is put out to pasture. How about some more manure left out to pasture? Seems like a great way to boost stock by cutting out the waste. CF drug too small to boost stock. Gotta cut more heads.

Name the groups that should go to inflate the value of Vertex

Cut all reps.

If you cut all reps, you would have no revenue. If must be easy for you in your cube to say that, when you have no effect on the company. Douche

Not really, with 80% + share, it is obvious that the drug sells itself. Sales might decline a little, but the profit will remain the same due to loss of outrageous salaries, bonus, and other expenses to our field based caterers.
