Vas, where are you?

It’s not just Vas that is MIA - it’s all of senior leadership across all of Novartis, all functions. We have hired an enormous amount of senior leaders from every industry but Pharma and they have all gone silent. Too busy in offsite meetings, blah blah. In times of change a high level of communication is needed - but they are nowhere to be found. Enjoy your big fat salaries senior leaders while the little people do all the work, being told to think of customers first and business as usual

Today’s GPSC townhall confirms this statement. Leadership is really out of touch with reality. Communication is appalling and empathy so fake. It’s a disaster.

The layoff announcement came right after 2021 results were announced and NVS posted just 4% growth over PY. Vas is in the doghouse - cutting costs and FTE. You can thank him for the situation we're in. Also - going outside for an analyst to lead Global Strategy is another hail mary... The Board wants change and a growth trajectory. Fed up with bad launches and lame US performance so now direct line and oversight. Victor is over his head too. Sad to see NVS in this situation.

VAS is smart enough to know when to stay out of sight & keep his mouth shut; every time he speaks (or, worse, tries to Un-boss & Inspire) he causes VAS-t damage.

He is quietly collecting Millions and preparing to leave with a $50MM severance package in Q1 2023.
