Truce App?

This isn’t fair! I am an Oncology Rep and my manager knows we can’t see customers. If this tracks every where we go and when we go what are we to do? Does this mean we have to drive to customers we can’t see so it is documented? I wonder if managers will start holding us accountable?

Don’t feel alone. I am in Rheumatology and have two partners and we cannot see anyone either AND our manager knows we don’t have access. What are we supposed to do?

Is it fair you are a sales rep that can't sell, but still employed?

Have you no empathy for our shareholders?

If you had a modicum of self-respect you would find a real job.

Yes it's fair. It's the nature of the business. If that person wasn't doing the job, then somebody else would be. Life isn't ever fair. Some people get lucky and some people don't. If a pharmaceutical wants to hire someone and overpay them for a closed out territory then great. Good for that person who gets hired. It's only a matter of time before we all get caught for being home most of the day.

You fall into category of unlucky. A lonely unemployed gay janitor loser who’s only friend is the cafe.

Because we aren’t UPS or Fed Ex Drivers. We are college educated exempt sales reps.
Not hourly employees. Treat us with the respect that we deserve! How would the folks in Indianapolis (who paid for us to be tracked) like to to wear an ankle bracelet and be tracked all day on how much time they spent in the bathroom, how much time they spent talking in the break room, what time they arrived, what time they left, did they take a 60 minute lunch or did they take a 90 minute lunch, are they using a number 2 pencil or the right pencil, did they balance their checkbook on line during company time, did they spend time on Amazon buying their groceries, did they book their vacation on line while at work, did they talk to their spouse for 15 minutes on the phone during company time. The list goes on and on. As long as they are performing and getting their job done, no need to be tracked. I’m sure people in Indy spend time working in the evenings and weekends, just like the sales reps. do. None of that time is accounted for or tracked. No, they wouldn’t like to be tracked either, but they certainly want to track all of us!!!

Because we aren’t Fed Ex or UPS Drivers, we are college educated non-exempt sales representatives that drive the profits for the whole company. We especially pay the big salaries for the people that decided to pay for this app to track us! Treat us with the respect we deserve. I’m all for shutting down our iPads and iPhones while driving, that is reasonable, but being tracked like we are convinced felons is not okay!!

How would the ivory tower executives like to wear an ankle bracelet all day and be tracked when they went to the bathroom, how long they were in there, how long were they on their lunch break, did they talk to their spouse for 15 minutes, did they balance their checkbook on company time, did they buy their groceries on Amazon, did they make a Dr.’s appt. or book their vacation on line while at work?? The list goes on and on. The answer is NO, they wouldn’t agree to that or want it either!! Tracking us all day is not the way to motivate reps.

Internal folks are being tracked too. Google the Truce App. Read what it's capabilities truly are. If you try to access sites outside of your normal work feeds, it can shut you down in the workspace environment..ie. you can't access the world wide web unless you are in the break room.

You can go to work in fear, or you can just go to work. If you are trying to hide activities that corporate won't approve of, you are in danger. On the other hand, if you are working to the best of your ability and are not continuously parked in front of a bar, strip club, your house, or your other job....you will be fine.

Grow up, do your job, don't abuse the freedom you have....you will be fine

Truth spoken here. This job is a joke. We may be getting tracked but for Christ’s sake this is the only job where you won’t lose your job for being a below average earner. It’s incredible. Stop complaining.

What's up with the new Truce app?

I left Lilly in 2016 after being there for 15 years.

Lilly was once an incredible place to work and up until my last year and then it became an awful place to work.

Lilly started taking away everything that made it great. They became extremely controlling and almost paranoid and I see it's actually getting worse!

I decided to go to a small biotech company and am shocked at the differences. Huge salary increase. No weird tracking devices. We don't even have calls per day requirements. If you're not selling, you don't get scripts and my new company wouldn't put up with that for long.

We are treated like adults. We have excellent benefits, lots of vacation, my pay has literally more than doubled, we don't have roommates at meetings and I drive a Toyota Highlander. (Sorry, but company cars do matter a bit) We also still have awards trips.

My territory is huge, but I like travel and now have a ton of frequent flyer miles and hotel points which are mine to use.

Leave big pharma if you can. You'll love the change!

This just isn’t fair. We can’t see customers and now we are going to have to drive to there offices even if they aren’t there? This seems so stupid. Will we get fired if our Veeva calls don’t match where our calls are? What are we to do? If they fire one person will they have to fire everyone? They will need to treat everyone the same so I hope they treat everyone the same. Will all my projects help me stay? I am on many committees and National groups so will that help keep my job? This is crazy. It feels very intrusive to watch everywhere we go.

Sounds like infringement of privacy. Class action. Lawyers lining up !
I once worked for a start up company where I had to use my own vehicle. When hired, I was told the reimbursement process worked by logging mileage manually onto the fleet management website. Then, some suit in HQ had the bright idea of mandating the use of a GPS mileage app to "see what a rep's day looks like." I found a new job fast! Not that I had anything to hide, but if I wanted to stop in a store over my lunch hour, I didn't want to be accountable to some bean-counter that had no idea what went into doing my job.

I feel for you all, but I'm afraid every company will be going this route. It's just like the old days of "paper vs computer".

How do you know so much about this app.? Do you work in Indy, or are you a mgr.? I believe you know what you are talking about since you have so many details about turning on or off our devices and being flagged for being non-compliant. Why weren’t more details shared about it before suddenly appearing on our devices last week? What is the real purpose behind it? Why do they want to track us?

Does this app give the company access to personal texts/emails from personal device?
