Experts not giving drug very good approval odds. Why on Earth are they hiring now before they know if drug will be approved or not? What happens if you get hired and drug isn't approved? Is it simply bye bye? Then you are out of a job.

I agree - I have everything they are looking for, but I don’t think it’s worth the risk - I’m out!

Drug is a huge risk. Most prob gets approved because everyone including fda is in a hurry to save these patients. That being said, the drug STRUGGLES mightily to provide clear efficacy, half a dozen “like/similar” molecules fell on their faces, and there’s SERIOUS A/E’s associated with the drug at its max dose which is what will get approved. Drug is not good and BIIB culture is sickening. You would be nuts to take this job.

If Biogen is so confident, then offers should be contingent upon FDA approval. Why go through all the effort and money and affected lives when there is a good chance the drug isn't approved. We have seen this happen so many times over the years that you would think that companies would learn.

Market prep/start up division/first in class product/too many known unknowns

If you don’t like to gamble then don’t play the game. Go work in family practice with another me 2 drug. Nobody is saying you have to so it should be easy to move on.

You're actually an idiot. A true idiot. IT is a HUGE risk this drug won't be approved. Many believe they will be asking for an additional study and that will extend it out over a year where they won't support employees and keep them on payroll. It is a valid point and why many won't take the job. People in earlier positions that were already filled were offered significant bulk money to be given in the event of not getting approved. Every position should be offered a decent guarantee if they decide to take the job. It is only common sense. More common sense would be hiring after FDA approval. So storm gurl...

You are so so so wrong. The drug WILL get approved just like all the other expensive as hell MS drugs, RA drugs, and other Rare Disease drugs that DO NOT work. All you WAY overpaid Pharma Biotech reps know exactly what I am talking about. Pharma research dollars here acting just like they always do. One extra percentage point response rate needed ABOVE placebo and just like magic a multi million dollar clinical research trial drug turns into a Billion dollar investment. And yes, I will be one of the reps rolling the dice to sell it. This is Legal. Pick your own battles that you are comfortable with in this life. I ain’t saying it’s right. But it IS legal.

haha MS, Biologics (in RA, PSO, PSA, UC, etc. ) all perform significantly better than placebo. What are you smoking? Agree with some of the rare disease drugs. Unfortunately Alzheimer's isn't a rare disease so the cost will be much more significant to the healthcare system. And this drug actually makes some of the people deteriorate faster. Have you looked at the data?

Of course its legal you smuck. I can't believe we hire people like you. Sad what this company has become.

we don’t hire people like her, she will be passed on and stay at her big pharma job making an 80k base like she always has (she calls out us evil biotech reps at the beginning)

I was thinking we should put them in Pollyanna Pediatrics selling all the drugs with zero risk. BTW.. there isn’t any money there because of less risk. Big Risk, major AE’s... that is were the money is at.. somebody is going to be doing it and might as well be ME..

OMG you are the moron on the other company thread. You make us all sick. If you plan to come to Biogen, its a sign not to pursue. You truly are an idiot.

From an outsider considering a position what is the plan for new hires? What is the anticipated timeline and what happens if it doesn’t get approved? Do they have a specified training date set?
