It should not be long now----60 day WARN must be given by May 1st to avoid paying incentives to those let go for the entire year---I believe all groups were covered in this alert,even re-badged workers. It will take a lot of chutzpah for the "TIMMER" to go through his spiel tomorrow--Be Well :)

I must say that I am embarrassed and ashamed of so many of our reps who whine and cry incessantly on these pages about how they hate their job and how bad the Mother is treating them... My suggestion - please quit now & stop whining like the entitled 30 something that you are and find something to do with your life that is gratifying...some of us do enjoy our jobs....this negativity grows like a cancer and is the reason I come to this site about 2x a year..

If you hate the site so much, do not come to it. For many reps who are stressed, this is a safe place to come and talk about their feelings.

The pathetic thing is that I did not know about this website until Merck management told us not to post here. Then a stupid manager told me the name of the website. I ran home that night and found the website on my personal computer. I hate Merck and will continue to support the reps who are struggling to keep their jobs.

Go post on a Merck site where everybody loves Merck--oh, there is no place like that.

You get credit for bonus for whatever months you are here if you are terminated as part of a downsizing.

I'm disgruntled as I'm sure most of you are.

Took the package a few months ago and just come here out of morbid curiosity.

Oh, I'm L-SP and the severance was a poison pill that Merck had to swallow going into the merger.

I did find out a few true morsels a while back on this site before the act was consummated. After that, not so much. Most are posting their individual situations. I guess if you think those are the majority, take it as truth or with a grain of Vioxx.

Again, most posters are those that are disgruntled.

Obviously, I didn't receive any @merck.com emails. Why don't you enlighten the morbidly curious as to the content.

"Be Well" from Merck? It's as hollow as "To earn trust every day" from Schering.

I agree that most are disgruntled. That's because virtually every Merck rep I know is disgruntled.

I think there is a lot more truth on this website than we will ever get from Merck.
 




May 1 is too late to make the 6/29 date they need for a clean 3Q start. 6/30 is a Saturday so your last day working to start 3Q fresh is 6/29. Back up 60 days from there on the nearest weekday and you're at 4/27 being the latest notice date.
 




I didn't get any HR EMAIL. What the hell is this.....more CP BS?

I am Port 1 PC and I received it. It listed links to ALL sorts of HR items, including benefits and many different separation packages offered this year by Merck. 15 years here and never received an email like this before. Agree WARN period will be in April. As for bonus, we are screwed on Port 1 due to the Singulair "kicker". Most of us will not get a dime...it will be used to pay our severance.

Unless you know for sure, be careful in labeling others as "entitled 30 something". Too broad and too generalize.

I'm in another division and believe if you don't like it, leave. Move on to a better place, for your sake and ours. We have our share of whiners also and they should move on also. Life is too short to stay at a place you don't like. And your coworkers deserve better.
