This is a horrible place to work

I really don’t care if we screw patients or the company! I love working only a couple of hours a week for full pay and bonus! Are you fucking kidding me?? WE HAVE IT MADE! We have a company car to use, full benefits, a 401K! What the hell people! Nobody gives a shit about patients! I don’t care about a soul at this company other than myself.

GET THIS! I heard that Amgen may take away company cars because nobody is using them for business and will start paying mileage only when you use YOUR OWN CAR FOR BUSINESS!! What???!!!

Guys, just keep on lying about Veeva, and we will be fine. They KNOW we are lying and they are fine with it or they would have done something about it by now. Just chill, lie, and enjoy your check every 2 weeks!

LOL, totally agree. Like I said before I am driving for an Amazon Delivery Service Provider now 40 hours a week. It's 4 days (including Saturday and Sunday), each day 10 hours plus while my spouse "manages" my job during work days. It's 18.00 per hour plus PTO paid, bonuses for performance and a driving score over 800. Yes, Amazon DSP's use an app called e-mentor, that you turn on on your phone when you start delivering boxes evaluating you by a score. They know WHERE you are at all times. It's live data. They also know whether or not you are speeding, braking hard, accelerating hard, turning corners too fast, have your radio blasting, or calling on your phone! Just imagine Otsuka would require this app. Managers would love it, of course, and 99% of us would get fired. It could be demanded and implemented within a minute!

The vans that you see delivering your Amazon stuff are not owned by Amazon, but an individual contractor, (DSP)

But that is not my point. I started a side business on my own: Washing Amazon delivery vans! These vehicles get used 7 days a week and get dirty fast, especially when driving in rural areas. I have a 1000 gallon water tank on wheels that I tow behind my pick-up truck and drive to the parking lot where I wash the vehicles. If my tank runs low, I tie into a water hydrant and fill 'er up again. Currently, I only have one customer, the DSP I drive for, but he has 40 vehicles, and I wash them twice a month, usually after they return to the station. Once I get fast and good at it, I will approach other DSPs and see whether I can wash their vans as well and expand business, and hire people to do it. There are usually 12 DSP's at each station. So the potential is there. The vans are too tall for a regular car wash.

Granted, you don't get rich doing it, but it's a great side hustle on top of screwing Otsuka. Between driving a van and the car wash business, I rake in about $4500+ every month and I am laughing all the way to the bank!

By the way, I am in the Western Region. Would like to see Ron P's face reading this!!!

Like someone else said: Enjoy it while it lasts! But I am glad you are screwing the company!

True, I have so much time on my hand, I have been watching Pornhub non-stop on some days.

You're doing the right thing. Most of the cowards on this board complain and point fingers but if you aren't willing to do something about it like find another line of work, I think they should just STFU and get back to work and earn their dirty paychecks.
I don't find enjoyment here anymore despite the benefits and pay. I'd rather work for the gun lobby or cigarette industry. Indeed changes are coming and you are being proactive in finding a landing spot before the axes fall.
I would love to work for the gun lobby...they are not hiring. Much more honest proposition right?!

To poster #302. Man, it brings a tear to my eye just reading how you are screwing Otuska! You are a visionary! Everyone, follow 302’s example! He is destined for greatness!

I read #302 and all I can come away with is he gets more satisfaction of screwing the company and keeping busy than actually making money.
Really, you're busting you ass washing trucks and delivering packages for what? $50-60,000 per year?
Dude, you need to set your sight higher. Maybe take a side gig at Waffle House or stock shelves at Target.

Seriously, the people I know who are really doing this right own small businesses that make money whether they are there or not. Better yet, instead of your wife "managing" your Otsuka job, have her go get a job for $100,000+ like we have.

To posters #306, #307 and #308:

1.) I have no reason to post BS here.
2.) Tell me how to post my pay stub here and I will do so with my name and my DSP name whitened out and
then you will see this is not made up.
3.) $4500 a month on top of Otsuka money is not bad, I am double-dipping. That is more than you make on
the side, which is ZERO!
4.) I use the money to invest and have done quite well in the last few months with the market rebounding.
Bought MFA at 43 cents....look at it now...
5.) My wife is working from home due to COVID 19 for another company covering my ass. So your point
is mute.
6.) Yes, washing trucks and delivering boxes is not glamorous, but it is on the same level as picking up lunch
from Pineira Bread and getting signatures from fat nurses stuffing their faces. So what is your point?
7.) Unless you make more on the side than I do, which you don't..STFU and come up with a better idea and
spare us your smart ass, arrogant and know-it-all attitude!
8.) There are other opportunities for me with my DSP, i.e. Station Manager, but right now double-dipping is
more profitable. At least I have a contact and will be interviewed if I chose to apply.

Considering that the average American does not even have $400 in their bank account to pay for an Emergency Room visit, you are doing quite well.

Don't worry what others think. Go your own way!

Kudos to you for being creative and a hard worker!

Kudos also for replying to your own post.
First it’s called a ‘moot’ point, not ‘mute’.
Secondly, I have 4 friends here with side gigs and all make much more than this. In fact, they make more than their Otsuka pay but stick around for the benefits and because they can do both jobs.
Three flip and rent houses and one owns a couple smoothie shops.
So go wash cars and deliver boxes but don’t act like you’re the only one doing this.

Kudos to you if you have 4 friends being landlords. Been there, done that, didn’t care for it. And I am sorry if I came across as being the only one having a side gig. All I am saying is we have options and possibilities. Glad your friends are happy doing what they do. I am happy doing what I do. So all is good.

It's only after you get out, that you realize you had no life. You were a spectator, not a participant of life!

No truer words were ever written! I left a few months back and it was like a weight had been lifted off my chest! My new pharma home has been everything that Otsuka was not and never will be, and I pray it doesn’t change. People, take the time to look to see what’s out there every day. You WILL find something only if you try.

I thought Otsuka’s #1 value was its culture.
Not true? I joined 2 1/2 years ago and that’s all I heard. Seems worse than the primary care sales I did when I first broke into the business 14 years ago. The managers care less about sales and more about metrics and budgets but I think that’s coming from higher up.
