Thanks, that was the feeling I had. I know my background is good but they were way too anxious to hire.

My experience is that LabCorp employees view of the company is very directly related to their performance. Those that perform poorly or do not work hard or get good results hate it. Those who work hard and perform well love the job. Lots of freedom and flexibility if you are performing well.
I wonder if all the disgruntled people posting here are current or former employees? My guess is former, and not by choice.

Word to the wise... you will be sorry if you think you will have a career here. I would rather being shoveling cattle poop in Kansas than work here!!!

I've made maybe ten calls the past two weeks. I can't believe the amount of data entry we have to do now. The tips of my fingers are numb from working the stupid mouse. I'm spending 10% of my time making calls, 50% doing salesforce.com busy work, and the other 40% on Monster and Medzilla looking for another job.

Pray tell.
What does this have to do with Quest?
I mean in any possible way at all. How can you make any connection between a city worker of San Pedro and Quest?
Maybe you should simply go try and sell your services instead of trumping up false allegations. That's at minimum, called, lying.

Signing a new non-compete, while you are currently employed by the same employer, is generally non-enforcable. You do not have a choice as to whether or not to sign it, as you need to keep your job, right? That makes the signing of the new non-compete somewhat under duress, so let them pound sand after you quit.

Not enforceable anyway.. especially if you are riff'd.. any lawyer would tell you its BS.. dont worry about it..

Is it worth it to hire old Quest employees with "less than stellar" backgrounds that reflect so poorly on our quality reputation at Lab Corp? We have spent countless years of hard work and millions of dollars creating an industry standard that surpasses all,... especially Quest. All of our clients and industry know it.

We hire these guys and in a "blink of an eye" we are wallowing in the mud with Quest outcasts that associate us with the very low standard that LabCorp professes against.

It is a sales and marketing nightmare to have to go out and explain away our good reputation to all of our clients because of just a few "bad apples". It can take years to wash out the that bad taste with our clients. If we don't watch out it won't be that long before we just become another Quest.

Why would LabCorp need all this Quest baggage?... The answer is WE DON'T. We shouldn't have to "dumb down" to the competition. We can't afford to lose our hard earned, quality industry credibility that is the very essence of our success.

That goes for SMEs, KAEs, and RMBDs. I know a few of each that we have hired and only 2 are worth it. One got his job because the RMBD he is working for now also came from Quest and apparently they were pals back then. Neither are worth a darn!! Unfortunately, there isn't a great deal that can be done.

And on the flip side, there are a number of LabCorp reps that have gone to Quest. That's why in these area's Quest is hard to contend with!!

When are you going to get it through your thick skull - no one here cares about this crap.

You really are a pathetic soul.
Why don't you turn your energy and effort into something positive instead of trying to discredit and smear someone's name.
Why are you so obsessed with this subject - again, NO ONE cares.

One word for you - therapy.

Seek help.

HR does an exit interview with departing employees. I know for a fact that many employees who have resign or retired (in our department) have told HR the many issues and problems in our department. Many of the employees who have resign or retired told HR they were leaving because of bad management in our depart, favortisms issues, lack of needed supplies to do the job right, unequal work for unequal pay, lack of managers ability to supervise their own employees, etc. HR has done nothing to address these major issues. Therefore, HR can read these boards, and HR will still do nothing. I wonder if HR just interviews the dep. manager after an exit review, and HR fails to go any further by interviewing a wider cross section of employees in departments to get a bigger picture? It is like, "Asking the fox who is watching the hen house why the hens are dissappearing?"
If I was part of Lab Corp Upper Management team, I would fire all HR people for not doing their jobs!
HR Failures to do their jobs right, could cost Lab Corp much money in lawsuits. HR department does more to protect their bad managers then they do to protect the Company's better interests.

Whoa,

I'm not the intended poster, but it seems like you have an emotionally unhealthy investment in this thread yourself. One word for you - medicalmarijuanna.

Depends on the state whose law governs the agreement. In Florida it would be enforcable, even if you were already working there. Under North Carolina law, LCA would have to provide additional compensation if you're already working there before they give you the noncompete to sign.

Has anyone else been called into a meeting with the scary corporate attorney trying to get you to admit to violating compliance? Ever hear of wrongful termination you psychopath? Your approach is unlawful and the compliance officers are making it difficult to want to work every day. Managing us by fear will only cost you good reps. Go get a real job and let us do ours.
