The VBU continues to crumble

Good luck with ya all in the VBU. Hope you saved your past bonus checks. The screws will be put to you in a no win situation. Why do you think marketing left. Bend over, your only choice is to leave.
My thinking as well!! When have we ever seen so many of the marketing people from big brands leave in droves!!! I have been here a while and while turnover is normal this is more than I can remember. As Italians say, “interessante”.

How does this division stay afloat? Most people don’t want any part of any vaccine post Covid. Physicians and offices have limited to no interest in any of this anymore. Access is the worst I’ve seen ever in the field. Account managers could easily handle the majority of accounts from the top down. Field sales visits from primary care reps are no longer necessary.

Lots of people still want vaccines. The problem is at least with gsk adult vaccine corporate wants more sales than what is currently possible due to many conditions and reasons. Corporate has turned the VBU in to another crap show at GSK. It's not just Gsk, other vaccines companies the same b.s. put up with the crap or do something else. Life is short.

Most pharma companies have management with brains up their ass. Everyone is recycled in this shit show.

So with the underperformance of both Shingrix and Arexvy, what do the adult vax reps do now? What a shit show.
Under performance is not largely attributable to the reps—perhaps in a few cases. Overall, both the vaccine and the reps are affected by external circumstances. Ultimately, the VBU is generating fewer sales, which leads to lower bonuses. Unfortunately, management might acknowledge (if only minimally) the barriers to Shingrix and Arexvy growth, but this does not alleviate the top-down attitude that the beatings will continue until morale improves.

This division is a train wreck! Morale is is lower than I thought it could even go. Managers are full throttle with metrics. Account managers are swimming in contracting and account planning documents. IS’s are getting shot down at clinics and docs are closing the little access we had. And Joaquin is throwing out emails about SPIF’s that seem like a long shot to even hit! Is there an adult in the room anywhere at GSK to try and salvage something from this BU? Or we just going to keep going like we are?

This is a nightmare!!! Truck are you listening!! Please!!

My colleagues and I quietly vent to each other. Some of the most capable people I have worked with. We all agree this is beyond painful. Too much testing crammed in a very short period. We all are beyond overwhelmed and the amount of remote testing instead of hands on is contributing to the overload and challenge in absorbing the contracting information. This sucks and none of us have any confidence.

The industry is out of touch with the reality of the current state of healthcare. Access is no longer open, and honestly very few offices care about any of this anymore. That’s not being negative, it’s being honest and realistic. Pharmaceuticals needs to evolve. But I’m sure all the middle and upper management will have an issue with that idea. Too many useless idiots sucking off the utter justifying their existence.

Nailed it! Experienced reps are throwing up their hands, myself included. And somehow they think things are going to improve. If anyone in the void is listening, we aren’t going to get better until someone comes in and recognizes our challenges and gives us a better path forward. Because the path we are on, isn’t working!

Stop being so dramatic, pussy.

Out of no where my FLL here in Colorado said "the reps in the vbu make great salary and that making a great salary means we have to put up with the ups and downs"
I guess she has a point.

It's the GSK Way.

The VBU is far from what it was 15 years ago. We have new vaccines that have driven our sales to a point where we have grown in excess. Bad excess for sure. With growth we have become a unit for unrealistic expectations given market dynamics. Gsk has approached these challenges in hiring internally from business units that are not qualified to manage vaccines. For sure there will be case studies in management courses that outline the failure of the VBU.

Nobody cares. This topic is tiresome and boring and is just on person having a conversation with himself. Just stop.

The truth hurts

This is very True. They have turned a once great division into a place that is much different for 10 years ago. Maya is very proud that she hires people across divisions, but in this case it’s been an epic fail. We have leaders who don’t understand or care because they just want more more and more. In the meantime people will continue to leave and find new opportunities just so they can get off of this sinking ship.

Why haven't you left yet, loser? If the ship is sinking, why are you settling into a deck chair?

And stop insulting Maya. The burden of keeping her teeth in her mouth must be overwhelming.
