The new "what good looks like" RD Atlanta

Working for Spota was absolutely miserable. Below is an account of what every rep on TS's region had to go through EVERYDAY. This is no joke, ask someone that used to be on his team and they will verify all of this:

6:30 AM Reps had to check email to see if Spota left any special instructions for them.
- Failure to do this could result in you missing a surprise conference call
- Missing a conference call would set you up for termination

7:30 AM Reps had to check voice mail and get Spota's daily instructions
- The expectation was that voice mail be checked on the way to the first call
- Spota called into the call center and checked when each rep actually listed to the message
- Doing this too late in the day would set you up for termination

8:30 AM Logging Sales Calls
- Reps had to log calls the instant that they finished speaking to the customer
- Spota would check the time stamps for when the sales call was submitted
- Reps had provide the following information in the call notes: Objective of the call, opening, pages in the visual aid covered, objections made by the physician, close, commitment obtained from the customer
- Failure to submit calls immediately or provide the specified information in the call notes would set you up for termination

12:00 PM Reps had to check voice mail again
- While working with another rep, Spota would sometimes see something that would benefit the team and would leave special instructions at noon

4:00 PM Phone Call from Spota
- Spota would call each rep on the team between 1-5 times per day
- His favorite time to call was at 4:00 pm
- The call usually involved get grilled on how you where implementing his instructions or following the POA message.
- In the event that you missed a call, you had to immediately text him the following information: why you did not answer, where you where, and the time frame that you would call him back. Failure to call him back would set you up for termination.

5:00 PM Reps had to check voice mail again
- The expectation was to check voicemail a third time as you where leaving the field
- Again, Spota would check the times when you listened to his message

5:15 PM Reps had to leave feedback to Spota about their day
- Spota wanted to hear about: your total number of calls, best call of the day, worst call of the day, any other information specified in the 5:00 pm voice mail
- Failure to leave feedback via voice mail would set you up for termination

6:00 PM Synchronize your computer
- Expectation was that you synched your calls as soon as you got home
- Spota wanted all reps to synch up immediately so that he could go through all of the reps call notes that evening.

6:00 PM - Midnight Surprise call from Spota
- Spota reserved the right to call you at any time including late in the evening

Now ask yourself how bad is TB?

you are a idiot.

This is what KK wants. She may hire him back!

Thank you for the entertaining post. Most of it is not true but entertaining. Did he have high expectations? Yes. Same could be said for 99% of the RD's during this time period. This is how Shire was for everyone, not just in TS region. This is how pharma was everywhere. He rarely followed through. I don't know what your beef with him was, but your hidden agenda is showing. He obviously can't defend himself because he has moved on. Maybe it's time you moved on?

Seriously. Didn't this guy leave about five years ago. TS is not the problem here. We've got our hands full with the two idiots running the NBU right now.

I have never worked with TB or TS but if any of this post is true this guy deserved to be fired. If the comment was made to the pregnant lady or anyone about going to the bathroom then he should have been fired and a lawsuit should have been filed.

Oh so I assume all of the RDs were fired pending HR investigation back then since this was the standard? No? Oh so maybe TS did do things a little different. And I assume all of the Shire RDs asked their reps about their love lives, asked how much money their spouses made, gave them advice on conceiving a child or told them to not let the sex go out of their marriage because their husband wouldn't want them anymore? Yeah, sound about right for old school pharma. The Atlanta team HAS moved on, which is why TB is who the team would choose over TS for reasons listed here. Oh and the numbers speak for themselves, how many times did TS go to presidents club as an RD besides trolling there with his family on vacation? Interesting.

This is hysterical and right on. Let's not forget the way he would describe his female reps. "so tiny", "statuesque". Yeah he was just doing his job the old school way. Wait, you mean this was 2007 not 1960? No wonder he was canned

All of what they said is true and then some.

You can not be serious that he planned a family vacation to the PClub destination & showed up there the same time as the Shire peeps who actually won the trip? This is hysterical!
