T B in se z is the definition of the nerd who wears his pants up around his neck nobody
Likes. How he got promoted is crazy he shouldn't even be with this company. Probably won't be long before he's gone completely incompetent geek. His team can't stand him they all have to be fake around him and just tell him what he wants because he's a complete joke. His Nick name is Gilbert from revenge of the nerds's

The atlanta team used to work for the biggest psychopath.....Ever heard of Tony Spota?! He was fired after an HR investigation where they directly interviewed his reps and uncovered sexual harassment among other things and despite being a 15 year veteran and having relationships with the top b/c of his Daddy, he was terminated immediately. Tim is a godsend compared to that piece of work. He leaves reps alone for the most part despite working for some seriously micromanaging ass holes. He's understanding if kids are sick or when life gets in the way. Maybe he's in their cars a little much and yeah he plays the corporate game, but let's be honest....to succeed at Shire that is what you absolutely have to do. It is the motto at this company....hell, CE's our passed out to us all by meeting in a room with the other zone RDs and voting. Yep, numbers are just a small part of it. The new management seems to follow a similar inner circle mindset so I doubt it's ending anytime soon. Stupid? yep! is it changing....doesn't look like it.

Agreed. Ask any of the veteran reps in Atlanta who they would rather work for, Spota or TB... I guarantee you that 100% would rather have TB as their boss. Spota was a micromanaging psychopath that sexually harassed his reps into oblivion. TS got off on making his people absolutely miserable, and was responsible for creating the most hostile work environment in the history of this industry.

While you are never going to agree with your boss 100% of the time, don't be so quick to throw TB under the bus... I promise you there are MUCH worse managers out there.

Not everyone disliked TS. He may have had his issues, but he wasn't as horrible as these posts are making him out to be.

Working for Spota was absolutely miserable. Below is an account of what every rep on TS's region had to go through EVERYDAY. This is no joke, ask someone that used to be on his team and they will verify all of this:

6:30 AM Reps had to check email to see if Spota left any special instructions for them.
- Failure to do this could result in you missing a surprise conference call
- Missing a conference call would set you up for termination

7:30 AM Reps had to check voice mail and get Spota's daily instructions
- The expectation was that voice mail be checked on the way to the first call
- Spota called into the call center and checked when each rep actually listed to the message
- Doing this too late in the day would set you up for termination

8:30 AM Logging Sales Calls
- Reps had to log calls the instant that they finished speaking to the customer
- Spota would check the time stamps for when the sales call was submitted
- Reps had provide the following information in the call notes: Objective of the call, opening, pages in the visual aid covered, objections made by the physician, close, commitment obtained from the customer
- Failure to submit calls immediately or provide the specified information in the call notes would set you up for termination

12:00 PM Reps had to check voice mail again
- While working with another rep, Spota would sometimes see something that would benefit the team and would leave special instructions at noon

4:00 PM Phone Call from Spota
- Spota would call each rep on the team between 1-5 times per day
- His favorite time to call was at 4:00 pm
- The call usually involved get grilled on how you where implementing his instructions or following the POA message.
- In the event that you missed a call, you had to immediately text him the following information: why you did not answer, where you where, and the time frame that you would call him back. Failure to call him back would set you up for termination.

5:00 PM Reps had to check voice mail again
- The expectation was to check voicemail a third time as you where leaving the field
- Again, Spota would check the times when you listened to his message

5:15 PM Reps had to leave feedback to Spota about their day
- Spota wanted to hear about: your total number of calls, best call of the day, worst call of the day, any other information specified in the 5:00 pm voice mail
- Failure to leave feedback via voice mail would set you up for termination

6:00 PM Synchronize your computer
- Expectation was that you synched your calls as soon as you got home
- Spota wanted all reps to synch up immediately so that he could go through all of the reps call notes that evening.

6:00 PM - Midnight Surprise call from Spota
- Spota reserved the right to call you at any time including late in the evening

Now ask yourself how bad is TB?

Everything listed above is completey true. You forgot to mention weekend voice mails and texts and the expectation you check voice mail and email Sunday nights. And you were expected to have every single marketing item in your call at all times.

Yep. What about the team urination policy where a 45 minute conference call occurred discussing not peeing during POAs and a pregnant woman was told that she didn't get special treatment because it had not been scientifically proven that you pee more during that time. The team was told the coffee input would be watched at breakfast and if it was too much and you peed he would take note. So the solution was not to drink anything even during pregnancy. And permission had to be granted before peeing and he would suggest peeing in a cup to avoid missing out on his wisdom for a few minutes to answer natures call. And don't forget he kept multiple spreadsheets that ranked the team based on how long it took to call him back because he set a timer on his phone to see exactly how long and would average it. If you were in the bottom you were threatened with termination. But yeah he's not so bad right ? This is just the tip of the iceberg. TB is a normal human being unlike TS

Thank you for the entertaining post. Most of it is not true but entertaining. Did he have high expectations? Yes. Same could be said for 99% of the RD's during this time period. This is how Shire was for everyone, not just in TS region. This is how pharma was everywhere. He rarely followed through. I don't know what your beef with him was, but your hidden agenda is showing. He obviously can't defend himself because he has moved on. Maybe it's time you moved on?
