The loss of Pennsaid is embarassing...

What ever dumb ass, that's why it is selling so well, because were all crooks....lol
Give your head a shake, it's because the product is incredible and sells it's self, only Mally never knew how to get the initial ball rolling. Difference is that Horizon has more professionalism, and know how on how to get a product to market quickly!

La Cosa Nostra call themselves professional, too. The difference is that they admit they are crooks.

Mally reps wouldn't know how to sell a candy cane at christmas time! Pennsaid is about as easy of a product to sell as any and they couldn't do it! Pretty pathetic really.
Question is... What are you guys doing over there any ways.... lol.

You hori and malli reps can bicker all you want. But the reality is that you'll never ever in your wildest dreams have a fraction of the volume of our gold standard, Voltaren Gel. Covidien or Mallonkrot or whatever couldn't do it, and horizon, with all your unethical practices is just a wannabe little player.

From Horizon board:
Technically, PNSD is not a transdermal.

Words matter so pick them carefully. Yes it crosses the skin but a transdermal depends on serum levels to be effective i.e. Duragesic patch.

Pennsaid does not require serum levels to work. OA is not a blood based problem. Sometimes we mentioned serum levels with our opioids, but it was more for the comfort and receptiveness of the doctor than any science that matters.

PNSD get deep. There was at one time a visual that showed it penetrating into the synovial fluid. It was quickly withdrawn. The synovial fluid has no blood supply so getting into it without a needle is a sweet trick for knee pain. Maybe you all have the data.

MNK was so bad than when VGel had supply problems and no factories running, we didn't even take advantage of it. We had no topical competition that was actively selling and did not take advantage. Like the comic says, "We can't fix stupid."

I sold truck loads of it and even suggested to mid level management that the promotional priorities should be reversed. Dump Xartemis, emphasize PNSD. Pride, although with no real basis, prevented them from seeing the light. The top reps knew...but no one listened to us.

You don't even know what you are talking about.
Horizon has sold just as much this quarter as Voltaren has sold this quarter, and in a very short period of time has thrusted Pennsaid 2% into the limelight. It is inevitable that Horizon will out sell Voltaren and become the number one treatment for pain. So check your figures, next you will be losing your market share so be careful with what you are claiming because there is a new king taking over. that king is Pennsaid 2%.

That's right. Mally didn't even have to manufacture Pennsaid 2%, the canadian company Nuvo Research did the manufacturing. So Mally had "ONE JOB" and that was to "SELL IT", and they couldn't even do that right...

That's because upper management put it at 15% of our portfolio. When they are incentivizing reps with pennies it's no surprise there was no effort put into it. It was pretty obvious that the relationship with Nuvo has been strained for a few years and that the loss of the Pennsaid brand had already been all but finalized way before the launch of Pennsaid 2%. Nice job Mally!

If only they made half of the effort that Horizon is making and this story would be completely different. At least the public can get this product now, but it didn't have to be this way. Mally had first crack at it, and they just screwed it all up.

Yes, the Mallinkrodt business model is a flawed system set up for failure.
They no doubt will struggle down the road and inevitably get gobbled up
by the more profitable, and more structurally sound other big pharmas
that are doing it right. Goodbye Mally! The writing is on the wall!

With every improved quarter that Horizon has and shows what Pennsaid 2% could earn, I am reminded just how poorly the management of Mallinkrodt is. They failed so badly with their strategy on selling Pennsaid 2% and it appears that now Horizon is poised to overtake Voltaren as the number one pain product on the market! Thats how badly Mally fumbled the ball... just think about that for a minute...
Its absolutely awful!!!

Look at the sales numbers from Horizon's latest quarter and you will see it for yourself.
Simply put, they will over take Voltaren in no time at all! Spend the time to see for yourself, then you will become a believer.
