The loss of the Pennsaid franchise product is absolutely embarassing for Mallinckrodt, or at least it should be! They gave up on it too easily and the competition now has it and is blowing the pain market away with the way they are selling Pennsaid 2%. It has only been selling it for a few short months now and already they are nearing 10,000 scripts per week in sales of the product and it is not slowing any time soon. The upper management at Mallinckrodt is making poor decissions and unable to market a drug like Pennsaid 2% which really just sells itself, it just needed the right plan to promote the sales like Horizon has done! Mallinckrodt should have a serious shake up over this poor business decission starting right at the top of the food chain! They wont be in business for long if this is how they do business. A shake up is definitely necessary!
