The HUB is a disaster

So, marketing had two years to ‘build’ a hub system. These things are 90%+ standardized programs. The client company (drug mfr) then tweaks the last 10% to customize it.

They’ve existed across multiple therapeutic areas, for decades.

Yet, we can’t get it right.

WTF?

(ps: I’m not in sales)

I can’t imagine an organization providing less support but asking for an industry leading sales breaking launch. To say our leadership is delusional is an understatement. Not only does sales have zero support, there are no plans to change it. Unbelievable cluster F.

100% spot on. Our "HUB" is a hot mess, we don't know shit, so we hired 2 more people. Now fill the HUB amd make us the industry leader like we projected. True f'n leadership right there.

Truer words were never said. Perfect synopsis.

You have to look at this for what it is: a deeply inept organization, whose strategy is to 'save their way' to profitability. It's simply in their DNA, and it's the only way you have a shot in the generics business, but it's that mindset that has carried over here. And it simply will not work.

For "save their way" philosophy, they sure went against the grain by paying ridiculous salaries and bonuses to that entire team for nearly a year. Absolutely idiotic..... they deserve for this division to implode. Kaboom

Totally agree with your comments. Fran and Seema were able to sell themselves in home office, but could not sell well enough to get some real good (smart) people to join SUN. Smart people did their homework, and passed.

The sales people aren't the problem with Tildra (and I am not in sales).

Totally agree (and I'm not is sales either). I want the sales team to blow it out !!!

There is a clear lack of strategy and clarity in direction from the very top, not just about tildra, but about everything here. Morale sucks, no one really wants to come in each morning, except a few newbies, but that'll wear off soon enough. 2019 is the year of Exodus II.

How is the chatter of official merger with Taro coming along? Could that explain the lack of focus? Why not get it done and streamline things for all of us?

I hear ya but don't think that's the cause of our sad state, it's been F'd up for a long time now. The whole home office is just lost. Those that are there are definitely looking, that's a reason for lack of focus. Plus, if you're not going to be there, why care ? The tildra team, however small it is, had to stay until launch for their resumes. Checked that box, now they are free to go.

I don't know why they are hell-bent on destroying their own empire. The CEO DS build it into a big global company and now he and his whole team seem to ambivalent and are on a destruction mission. For what?

Growth is great. Growth without a plan is fool's gold, and this company has a lack of leadership (top to bottom). You can't grow buying cast off drugs and packaging them as being a class leader from the CMO (w/o data to back it up).

For one simple reason:

Profit.

Dilip has made it very clear it’s all about the dollar (rupee). This is because he’s only operated in the generic space, not branded, and not in the US. He has zero regard for the patient and the physicians. That core approach ensures failure here.

His culture is downright offensive and he believes Americans are stupid and lazy.

I agree! But this guy is in it for the long haul. They know the business. Forget branded, they are not able to capatalize on their strenght. Sun is DS identity. I just dont get it.

Look where Sun got its growth over the years. India, Russia, Cambodia, China, Iran. Good for them. All the countries that are opposite the USA, love SUN. It's a bazarro company, so why not try to conquer a place where the money is best but the demand for cheap India merchandise does not exist. When you come into the USA just for the buck, this is what you get. Old dusty crap for a higher price, and miserable morale in the field. Recipe for disaster. Will not work until the leisure suit comes back into style and Brian starts wearing one.

First of all let’s address the HUB. It is actually functioning quite fine. Turn around is happening within the promised time frames. The hand off to McKesson has been a nightmare. The triggers to get it to SPPs and then shipped is a disaster. The criteria for selecting McKesson was that they were willing to accept our rotten terms. Sun never realized that McKesson knew they had over promised with no intention of delivering. Even now Sun is in denial. But the HUB processing is very much on track. After we fix the SPP distribution we should be good to go.

Second let’s address the goals. Or should I say the Princeton Reality Distortion Field. Accurate goal setting is essential for winning. Tildra goal setting was done in reverse order.
How much revenue do we need to cover our ass immediately? Then breakdown that number and roll it onto the back of sales. Screw the field out of any real bonus and watch them fly away quicker than buzzards can eat a Sun dried carcass. The sales goals are a complete joke since we are almost completely without a distribution system.

But hey, let’s hire a few more big Pharma rejects and put our future in their incompetent hands. That should fix everything.
