I've been at a few companies before (big pharma and diagnostic companies). No place is perfect, but the level of toxicity at exact sciences is too much. That shows in the posts as well. You guys sell cologuard for a living. Just make sure that you don't end up with cancer yourselves (whichever that is) for the level of stress you carry. Do not underestimate high-intensity chronic stress. At the end of the day, only you can decide if this job at ES is worth it.

Bottom line for me, (I am a rep that started in March of 2015, that moved during Covid), the company completely changed in 2018-19, and has been devolving ever since. It is an absolute travesty what has happened to this culture.
Started with the influx of Abbvie Big Pharma, heightened with the Pfizer Giant Pharma joke, (caveat: the Pfizer marketing power was a GAME CHANGER, their reps were absolutely clueless), and now being capped off by the GE assholes, who are the exact opposite of the culture at launch.
It is a really sad development.
Additionally: HR is complicit in this culture change. The biggest JOKE of an HR department in the industry.
This just proves the mental midgets representing here! Yes there is a lot of waste in the clown c-suite, but not even close to what is wasted at the rep level. How many reps nowadays? Total package, unrealistically conservative, at 250K per rep? Do the math.

I make REAL money now, with products where my customers actually need me.
Any rep, (whatever the hell you call yourselves now), that thinks a primary care office needs your help with Cologuard, is fooling themselves. Reps are a COMPLETE waste of money for Cologuard.

Salary + bonus = $250K at plan (uncapped bonus). Plus all the benefits.
The products I represent get me into academia with open arms, because they can't use the product without the rep leading the way.
I got what I needed out of Exact Sciences. Seriously, if you are reading this messge, and employed by Exact, you are underpaid and not appreciated. They will kick you to the curb like yesterday's trash when it benefits them, as most companies will. Loyalty is a thing of the past in this industry. It's a reality.

Listen, are there other jobs out there that pay more than exact? Yes.
I left about 6 months ago to work for a smaller company that pays more but it comes at a cost. We don’t have as many resources, departments aren’t as built out, more pressure from sales leadership to sell, and there’s a chance we could get laid off.
TBH Exact is a much more stable bet that provides great work life balance.
Do I have any regrets? Absolutely not. I’m progressing my career in a direction that fits me and I get paid more.
HOWEVER, I’m sick of coming on here every once in a while to see people complain about how shitty their lives are… You get paid 6 figures to “sell” a 7 year product. With all the territories that are no access and reps that barely get a lunch a month Be lucky the KC has a heart and hasn’t canned you yet.
