Teva's new "Reshape" plan

Levin is putting his plan into place....loved the comment about managers who would try to protect the people they like will have to justify even higher up why they are being protected....Look out JS and your KC slackers, you know who you are.

The previous poster talks about the company trying to fire people to avoid severance packages. I suggest everyone start documenting everything their manager says negatively about them. It is illegal to try to avoid a severance package by targeting people when a possible layoff has already been communicated. Start inquiring with employment attorneys to know your rights. Save the documents they ask you to sign and get a head start on protecting yourselves.

Agreed, save every email...everything and print if off, start NOW...helped me tremendously when I sued Teva...caught upper management in lies...guess they didn't think I would be smarter than they are...but of course, upper management is surrounded by people that kiss their ass and that is what they prefer to be surrounded by..so they think they are untouchable ...will be interesting to see who gets canned. I know who I would want on that wish list. I really like Levin.

Unless a 3rd party is hired to choose and make the cuts, here is who goes in this order; low performers and high performers who don't kiss ass. Corporations like average stupid people, they don't cause trouble. Next, single females, single males, single parents, and lastly the family man who think they are untouchable and probably are if they are part of the old Ivax community. One can only hope Levin has hired an outside company to make the cuts with no manager nepotistic input.

Teva Respiratory has been identified as a growth engine for the company in a public forum on more than one occasion. 35% of Global R&D is going into Respiratory and the projections are that they'll make up a much larger portion of the overall revenue in the next 4-5 years. No one can guarantee TR comes through unscathed but we have as good a shot at it as anyone. There's a high probability that the company will leave us intact through 2014 to see how spiromax and our 2015 launch products progress. If there are layoffs at TR (which will be minimal if they even do occur) they will not happen before the end of 2013

CC admitted on the conference call that we will be impacted. Although he would not say to what extent, all indicators point to pre-Qnasl expansion numbers(~300). Keep in mind the the Pro-Air Spiromax will only replace the existing ProAir product so is not an additional revenue generator. Our first true line extension is not out till late 2015 early 2016. So do you think they will sit on an entire sales force for two years waiting while Home office looks for additional cuts? I hope so, but am not holding my breath.

Seems realistic, thanks for the info.

I was on the call and there was no indication that we will go through a downsizing. We will be impacted within our budgets and spending and there will be extra scrutiny into whether to fill an empty territory (especially partner). What "indicators" could you be speaking to and how could you possibly know a number for optimal sales force size? Stop scaring people and go back to work.

Teva promised on the investor call to double Respiratory sales. If they cut headcount after this bold statement they should be prepared for a lot of pissed off investors. This division considering the pipeline and expressed emphasis from higher ups is running lean in my opinion. So lay people off just so they can re - hire in 12 months to prepare for Spiromax and the other launches? That's a bad business model if they go that route shame on them. Let's retain good people, maybe hold off on filling open spots and move forward with a positive outlook for this divisions future.

You were either not on the managers call or are being somewhat one sided with your response. CC stated that we would be impacted, but did not know if/when Respiratory would experience a layoff. Bottom line, he could not say either way exactly what the future holds for us. IF you are a manager as you claim, you know that since Qnasl failed to come close to original predictions a while back there was talk about a possible return to a pre-Qnasl headcount. A number of openings in partnership territories have been reduced for months now due to monetary pressure that MS previously talked to us about. We found out at our last managers meeting that Qnasl was almost pulled from our mix which was very telling to me (another indicator). This begs the original question which is; does Teva keep the expanded sales force for the next ~2 years until our COPD products hit, or do they downsize until such time the additional reps are needed. Remember, Pro-Air Spiromax is just a newer version that replaces Pro-Air (revenue stream stays the same). Maybe attrition is all they use, but none of us know the answer at this point. Where I obviously differ from you is that I believe it is best to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Our reps deserve to know what is happening (good and bad) so that they can make important decisions that affect them and their families. Why tell them everything is just fine and we will only be tightening our belts when neither of us know?

I hope you are correct in your post, but please do not belittle those who came away with a different take from our managers meeting and the call.

And whoever comes to set up th Barzini meeting, that's the traitor, remember that.

How do you double respiratory profits as CC promised? Certainly the sales force will not and can not do it (it had more than enough time to prove) so the only logical answer is to cut costs by reducing headcount. 100k per rep on average with bonus x 75 reps. That alone is almost 10 mil including car, insurance, gas, expenses, meetings, blah blah blah.

Come on kids - Isnt what is going to happen to u obvious?
