Specialist Access Declining?

Your DM isn't going to say anything about access to anyone but you. Unless he is dumber than a bag of rocks he would be cutting off his nose to spite his face. If you have no access he has no job.

If you hate your job so much that you have to come here and bash it, then shut the fuck up and go find another job! Oh I forgot, obama has the economy so fucked up that the U-6 or "real" unemployment is a little over 17% now. It ain't a good time to be looking for another job. I would wish you would go and try to find one. You're a whiney pussy that has nothing better to do that bitch about the pharma sales rep. You really are worthless!

Grow up kid. Never said that I hated the job, just that it has changed over the years and not for the positive. Also you can get off your political angle as the cuts in reps nationwide by all companies started way before Obama came into office and it was due to excessive reps (share of voice) which got old for doctors, PhRMA guidelines, products going off of patent and not replaced, generics (65%+ of all Rx filled now) and formularies. I don't need to find another job as I will be retiring this year with millions in the bank thanks to the BMS pension plan and my 401K. What I said in all honesty is that $195 for this job is way out of line. Unfortunately it is punks like you who will never experience this because as I said in my initial post, the job of a pharma sales rep and managers have changed dramatically which is unfortunate but reality. By the way, when I see you in your next job, I like my fries crisp

My stats aren't that bad but there are plenty of closed or signature only offices. Others are open access but virtually no clinical discussion. There are many lunches where the physicians don't bother to attend.

I feel like I'm being told to do something I have no control over - drive numbers. The job isn't enjoyable. In fact I'd say I can't think of any of my colleagues that actual like this type of work. Tired of the access issues and not being appreciated by physicians or management.

What a miserable career.

Well put, these young reps don't know shit about what the job used to be, time with docs, value. Now it's all Ken and Barbie bringing lunch. CEOs are wiseing up and big pay will be gone in 5 years, a monkey can do what reps do today.

Pretty much just a lunch ticket. That's all you do. You do not know anything near what your specialists you call on know so just kiss ass with great lunches and beg

Well said....Golden handcuffs....No one likes this silly job, except on payday.

Payday keeps me here. I agree...there are few, if any, who actually like this silly job. I do have customers that i like and office staff but even if they want to write for me they can't too often because BMS is not on the local formularies. Insurance companies drive the business...it is as simple as that.

Could not have said it better. Quick to blame Obama for everything....what short memories they have. Share of voice killed us, I am not sure what was wrong with the few intelligent voices that were out there sustaining the sales before all the young know it alls came along. Agreed no one worth $195/yr and if they are making that what the hell are they doing to deserve it, and please do not tell me driving sales because we all know it is luck of the territory. Some of us have a the long history with the demise of value we used to bring to the customer, now it is just "would you like chips or slaw with your sandwich?"
Too bad these fools who think it is ok to increase a drug price by 12% so those that really need it can't afford it weren't around "in the old days" to see what a sale was really like. When physicians gave you quality time since they weren't always running off to see the next patient. You know it is all about $$$$$$$. Sad sad sad state of affairs.
