Specialist Access Declining?

There are only 2 people in CV/MET that could come close to 17 Pinnacles - SC in TX and TW in LA.

Neither of them won 17 or make 180K

What a loser, how many touchdowns did you throw in high school? Get a life, BMS Pinnacle wins mean nothing in this world. Even within BMS it's known as a lottery.

Oh, by the way how many millions of dollars were put into TW's territory via Milani et al for 10+ years during the Pravachol years? What a fucking joke.

Old time ex CVMET rep here. Agree that Pinnacle is a lottery and certainly not a testament of how good a rep is so why do you talk about your 17 Pinnacles. Also TW did not even have Milani/Lavie in the territory so at least get your facts straight. He was one of the best reps at least when I was part of CVMET. I do not even know if he is still around but my guess is if he is around, Onglyza probably does pretty well in his territory. Get a life

SC IN TX HORIZONTAL CLOSES. SECRET TO SUCCESS

Do not forget a few years ago SC in TX transferred to the Specialty Sales Force and won Pinnacle the same year she would have been a also ran in Primary Care. Has manipulated the system for her benefit and it doesn't hurt to have all the opinion leaders in her backyard

TW is a good rep, but to say that the big bucks from BMS had no affect on his territory is naive. Milani, LaVie et al made big impact for Pravachol in his area - stuff it old rep.

Everyone has watched SC in TX manipulate the system. She then provides the horizontal close

you are bitter...wow but you don't KNOW anything of which you speak

not bitter, just realistic. Do you really think that a person whose job as a sales rep is worth $180-195K with what we do? You you really think companies are going to sustain the rep at this cost? I have been around for almost 20 years and seen the change in this industry. My father was a rep and DM for Bristol Myers before it became BMS starting in the 1960's. There is now e-detailing, iPod details, automatic shippment of samples, web sites for drug information which is much better then what some of the reps can do...that never happened before. Do you understand the lack of respect that Pharma reps have now? Do you really think that a lunch for a bunch of cows is cost effective not only for BMS but for any company? The answer is no. Get your head out of the sand and try to understand the reality of the industry and where we are heading.

If you hate your job so much that you have to come here and bash it, then shut the fuck up and go find another job! Oh I forgot, obama has the economy so fucked up that the U-6 or "real" unemployment is a little over 17% now. It ain't a good time to be looking for another job. I would wish you would go and try to find one. You're a whiney pussy that has nothing better to do that bitch about the pharma sales rep. You really are worthless!

Is anyone concerned about the excessive amount of lying that now has to take place?

Don't get me wrong, in pharma there has ALWAYS been an acceptable amount of lying that is EXPECTED. However my specialty access is basically non existent (lunch only with limitations on frequency for 70%, signature only and forbidden to speak for 20% and hall calls only for 10%) so the amount of lying I have to do has grown exponentially.

The lack of access and lying have become a sure source of stress when my manager rides with me, because they can see that there is no access and have to know that much of what is being said in call max is horribly untrue. Plus eventually the numbers come out and they stink.

I'm interested in hearing opinions on that aspect of decreased access?
