Special Markets Direction

So I have to ask. What are your thoughts on the future of the special markets. Managers are setting us up for changes after the first of the year. Do you think the SM's will continue to promote Brovana alone or another product? Do you think the territories will remain the same? Don't you think it is funny how the company is rocking when it comes to Brovana but only a few reps. are making the big bonuses?

Any change would be welcome if you ask me.

Here's what I heard: My manager told me the company is on the cusp of acquiring a new product (oncology) and that the SM division will be disolved when they do... Some of the SM reps will sell that product and the remaining will backfill the Summit/Pinnacle positions that are left open by reps moving over to Lurasidone. Dunno if it's true, but that's what someone told me last week that was recently at the HO.

WAS informed last week that major changes and cuts are coming, talent reviews by managers dropping the dead wood and non performing reps, will not back fill, the company is very afraid of the lurasidone expansion and are having difficulties with staffing these positions and the future of the drug looks very weak and misguided projections. Sepracor will implode over the next 12-16 months will lay offs and major failures. The writing is on the wall, the morale is dead, reps are trying to jump off this ship of fools before it is to late... I know of 3 reps who have backed out of moving over to the psych division after getting more DD on the operation. Sounds like a huge cluster-fuck of clowns. Typical Sepracor, dont know how to hire, train, or pull off anything commercially viable and relevant, they are botching up interviews, making claims that are false, dont have an approved drug, have managers who dont know their hand from their ass and the leadership is worse than any other medium C level company that I have ever worked for. I am out, have been inter. for months, start new gig in two. Ho Chi Min... Sucka!

Excellent job of misrepresenting what is going on. You speak little half truths, but then add your dimented twist which is not true to them. You know 3 whole reps who changed their minds? Wow, you must be really connected. Again, no doubt the reasons they backed out were supplied by you.

This may be pretty close to the truth. If you go to the Sepracor website, and go to the career opportunities link, there is a position open a Senior/Executive Medical Director for Oncology based in Marlboro.

Heard this scenario too. Dunno why would they bother filling open SMD positions now if the person taking that job could potentially end up in a Xopenex/Alvesco position or Lunesta/Omnaris position. Basically the same job, but not the position someone interviewed for/was hired for...

a good way to find out is 1) when is then next SM Div training class and 2) what drugs will they train on my guess would be Xop/Alvesco/Brovana... i heard that the sh!t will hit the fan in early Feb '10 during realignment.

You spoke to your SMD and She said what? Knowing the female SMD's there is only one that is worth anything and I am not sure she is close to any real information. The other one's better be interviewing outside the company because JS got rid of them all when they were primary care RD's and downgraded them to SMD's ( i mean DM's) and I bet he will do it again. The problem is someone forgot to tell them to change their signature on their emails, you are not RD's anymore and as soon as JS finds out half of them have to fly just to get to the territory, bye bye.

Yes I spoke to my SMD and when Jeff Wren left she said to start looking as the party is over... she said SMDs are looking to new div, ocg, and outside the company. Why would Jeff leave if things were soo good? Dont say cause he was mad at MI either he left cause there will be huge changes in feb '11 and many people (families) will be SOL!!!!

finally a post with some merit behind it, if i were a DM I would be looking asap. the new psych division is a temporary smoke screen, this company is going backwards and in a hurry. dont get caught without a plan b.

This is true my smd just left for OCG and he loved his job but seemed to think that OCG is the safest spot for job security as he has a family and he is the bread winner. This sucks I came here last year and am already looking again... SMD= Shit Mess Disaster. I heard it too, Feb 15th 2011 we are all screwed... let the exodus continue!!!

hearing exact opposite. Not suprising SMDs wanted over to OCG. Better career opportunities and less likely to be down-sized. Reps - Brovana way ahead of projections and making the company money. These reps may be expensive, but their territtories are huge and still call on hospitals. If medicare coverage doesn't change-not gonna mess with the sales force while it is profitable.

Resp reps carrying Xopenex through fall 2011 plus Alvesco and HFA. Lunesta and Omnaris not going anywhere yet. neither will be able to pick up Brovana.

ditto. things are getting hairy. get out now, the market is getting worse by the day and sepracor reps will be low man on the pecking order against real reps.
