Sonicision

The sonicision is only available in the 36cm length, requires the batteries to be charged with a limited shelf life (before recharging), and are easier to discard by accident.---Not to mention--a straight jaw. Added weight makes it easier to shift off of the sterile field--to the floor. Can't really see any benefit of it!

Well, unfortunately, everything you just said is not mattering to my surgeon. In fact, the hospital has not had a single device fall off the field, because it gets handed back to the scrub tech. Not sure why the shelf life is a selling point, I will ask my OR manager if that is a big deal, but why does it matter if they have to recharge the battery? Last, if I was a surgeon, I would want cordless devices. All of my surgeons are excited about the cordless and I can't really blame them. I hope we come up with a better selling strategy than this or we are in trouble.

Battery life= rotation of stock As far as surgeon demanding wireless.... Well, there isn't a wireless bovie, light cord, etc used on cases in my hospitals and I don't hear an uproar about that.

Trust me, if there was a wireless bovie or camera their would be an uproar. I am starting to think that you are a manager or a rep that hasn't had Sonicision in your territory. The wireless is nice, hence why we are creating a wireless Enseal.

There are battery operated light sources, and the battery powered bovies never took hold. You're starting to sound like a rep that was losing before this thing ever came out.

As far as my hospitals are concerned, I doubt they will ever be on the shelves.

Here Here

The Sonicision is a good device, that's for sure. We'll just have to see how the manufacture deals with the accounts. If history repeats itself, they'll piss off the hospitals with bad service, broken promises, and other forms of bad behavior!

Do you guys remember the movie Happy Gillmore?

..."green jacket, gold jacket who gives a Sh$@......

Sonocision, Thunderbeat, G2 superjaw version 1,2,3, 800, it is a contract market and deep down we all know it

My FST, 2 DM's, product directors and a few friends from other divisions from EES now have successfully worked for Intuitive for a few years.......remember the EES exodus a few years ago?

I think " global surgery group " really means our revenue is coming from emerging markets...

Sad to see EES with issue after issue - just might be time to move on.

Intuitive? I've seen the most turnover in reps from that company in may area. They hold the record! There is a new one just about every year and the ones that they replace are leaving. Intuitive runs their guys and gals into the ground! There's no way I'd work for them, unless I absolutely had no choice in other openings at the time.

Haven't seen it in my territory and haven't really heard any noise in a while. For those that got to see it, was it just a complete bust for Covidien? I didn't expect it to be the game changer that everyone is chanting over at Covidien.

They were successful at the hospital they chose to target for their PI. Every surgeon in the hospital favored it over the ace. I think it will be difficult from a contract standpoint elsewhere but they do have surgeons asking for it in my territory. One of my surgeons whom I have a strong relationship with on the endo side claimed it was a game changer about like the iPad is to a laptop. I replied, "that's not that much of a game changer" and he said that he really doesnt like to carry around the laptop anymore. He also thought the min was better.
