Sonicision

Not so sure that the device will be more expensive. I think the reusable pieces make for a more economical solution. Depends on the account. I'm sure they are targeting effectively. I was hoping to hear that more negatives or more of a flop like our Enseal. I say they take a nice chunk of business from us but our overall portfolio message is better.

I have heard that Vandy is a flop and the surgeons don't like it. Also, how do we have a better portfolio, Covidien has everything we have and they have ES. Not sure why you put that. The Sonicision is not going anywhere. We will remain market leader!

looks like I am loosing my biggest Enseal user to Thunderbird or what ever they call it .

I love it when the competition comes on here and pretends to be with EES. If a rep was losing a surgeon to the competition, they would definately know the name of the device being all the conversations with the surgeon, techs, purchasing, and manager. Nice try

I think we will remain the market leader as well but they will take a huge chunk of our business. I meant we have a chance when looking at all Ethicon products to standardize hospital systems when bundleing mechanical as well. We typically have better pricing than they do

Pricing I'm hearing is around $460-$470 per instrument. No word on batteries or transducers because the rep wasn't sure how many my account would need based on the size of facility. So much for being an expert on their own product.

If Stryker or Sterilmed are in your shops, why would an account bring in Sonicision when the account is paying $200 for a reprocessed ACE?

Not sure where you guys are hearing all this bad stuff about the Sonicision. I am hearing completely different story. Yes, my surgeons say their is not much difference clinically, but they are saying that not having a cable makes a very big difference. Not having the cable allows the divice to be rotated without the cable getting tighter as well as moving it from one person to another without tangling the cable. I wish I was hearing that it is not a good device, but that is just not the case. Also, I have heard pricing is around $440 and they are giving the batteries and generators to my account for free.

My biggest bariatric surgeon loved it. He said it is shorter than our Bariatric ace but still liked the cordless function and felt the min was faster. The cordless feature just doesnt seem like it would be that big of an advantage to me. Ridiculous

Be happy, I am losing an entire hospital! It's hard to get any of the new upcoming products in if the account signs an energy contract with Covidien. This is definately bigger than I would of ever thought.

Im potentially losing a hospital too. My surgeons that I have working with for several years are making the switch. Several told me that it was a game changer. On top of the cordless feature they also like the min/max trigger better. And like previously posted its faster.

Must not have been taught correctly! What so hard about pressing activation and squeezing. It astounds me that surgeons struggle! It really is shocking

It's not that they struggle. It just takes forever to seal. The Ligasure takes only a couple seconds and they all feel seal looks better. G2 has flopped.....

How much market share do you predict we will lose in the next year to Sonicision? I project 70%. I will lose 90% in my territory for sure. I am well liked by my surgeons and have a strong presence and even I know I'm in trouble. Multiple surgeons have told me that this is a device that they are excited about. The worst part is that I have had surgeons coming up to me and ask me if they can get the wireless harmonic on their next case. Today a nurse came up and said she loved our new wireless harmonic, I wanted punch a hole in the wall.
