Have your plan B across all divisions...there has to be more cost cutting to finance the acquisition of Alexion. 38 plus billion is not chump change even for AZ. Shareholders and board members to make happy.
Hey dick-less, Alexion is cash rich, if any lay-offs come its going to be from them, we in oncology rule the day and are completely shielded, but let me assure you, that the carnage is over, respiratory and diabetes were bloated, not making money, and needed to trim the fat. So take your stanky ass somewhere else.

I read an article that said the Alexion employees will retain current salaries for a year after the deal closes plus these are rare disease products. We know how AZ idolizes reps outside the company, as if they bring something unique to the table. If they do cut it won't be many IMO. Now administrative and manufacturing staff could be a different story.
That was part of the deal when we were bought by AZ in thr BMS deal

CV has some geographies with way too many people. Could downsize at various territory levels and I’m surprised they didn’t. Even with hiring freeze and some reps going to the neurology team there’s still some top-heavy territories.

And do we even still have “ZS”/lokelma reps? Cut em loose

I've worked in the rare disease space. It is different but hardly something that someone with hematology or related experience can't do.

Alexion's issue is their primary money maker, Solaris, goes off patent in 2025. Their follow up product to replace it is out but I'm not sure how well it is doing.

I didn't like this merger. I think AZ overpaid for a one trick pony company that doesn't compliment AZ's direction and strengths.

I read several analysis who like the merger, because of your pipeline, cash rich, Solaris is a money maker, but they did say that its replacement will be a billion dollar drug. Earlier in the year the rumor was that we were going for Gilead, and that about set the pharmaceutical analysis scratching their heads on that one, thank god that didn’t happen. But it seems Wall street does like this fit for AZ.
 




I’m going to retire in 2021 from AZ. Anybody know if your HR friends say cuts are coming again? Which they should, what a joke with the new territories with 3 folks in them.
