So many Pips, is the end soon for cluster 1?

Is Cluster 1 getting ready for layoffs? I know about 2 people in my region that are on one. I never received one but my manager has documented every single time I’ve been late turning in something or said something wrong. My numbers are strong but I’ve been told it’s never about numbers. They will can whoever they feel is negative. Im literally sick to my stomach answering my manager’s phone calls that I called in sick the last two days. Rumor has it I will get canned when I go back maybe tomorrow or Thursday.
Has Pfizer fired reps they feel are hard to work with without giving a Pip? And how bad are pips? If I get one, can’t I just ride it out and get a job or collect unemployment afterwards? My next company shlouldnt be able to be told I was on a Pip or I was fired.
What should I do? Take the Pip? Hire a lawyer or go out due to mental stress?

Retired manager. I can tell you that if Pfizer wants you gone, you’re gone. They will do and say whatever it takes.
If you really deserve it, you should know it all by yourself. Rarely does anyone come off a PIP, unless it was just the numbers; and it rarely is.
I was always upfront with my Reps. If they truly had a chance of surviving the pip, And if they really tried to stay, I worked my butt off to help them. If I was getting heatfrom above and knew they were gone, I told them so, and recommended they look at the 90 days as time to job hunt or takes vacation. Pips sucked just as much for me as the rep.
If your manager is nitpicking as you described, it probably is the beginning of putting you on a pip.
My advice, start looking for another job..... out of pharma..

As a former DM I found out years ago if you reject the PIP you are entitled to one week per year you worked as severance. Not as good as 2/year but better than nothing. Not sure if this is still policy today.

If you reject the pip you'll be eventually fired, and get nothing.
If you quit you get nothing but vacation and personal days.

It used to be the policy moron-I saw the paperwork. Management didn't really promote/push it--obviously. Like I said- not sure if it's still the case today!. BTW-out of the Pharma hellhole and much happier today. Looks like you have some anger issues....maybe time for you to leave also.

Have no daughter but if I did I don't think she would date a guy still living at home at your age. Who's projecting now. BTW-I also voted for Trump. As far as class goes-going after a guy who's your dads age and on a pension is very classy. Don't you wish your parents had a pension (if you're really helping them out)! Think about it fool. The two of you need to grow up. You both have way too much time on your hands. Neither of you is providing any helpful information re: PIPs. Its great that you have a pension and all, but you need to eat a piece of humble pie and realize that because you worked in the early 80's, you came in at a different time. There were quite a few reps and higher level managers that walked away with fat pensions and I hat to say this, but many of them were extremely lucky because they weren't very good at their jobs. It's all about timing.
