So many openings - why?

Good for you to have found a better company to grow with. I am currently interviewing with two different companies. Hoping to be out before the end of March. I can attest that the pay outside of CVT is much better, even for a senior-level TM such as myself.

I am shocked, surprised, and disappointed to see my colleagues being let go, or should I say, offered a deal to leave/or be fired. Granted, some have been here most of their careers and lost their drive/determination. They are replacing these representatives with laughable TMs; I guess they can no longer attract the level of reps we had been known for.

Shame on you, ConvaTec.

I have been speaking to several recruiters in the industry and the majority of Medical Sales companies are offering 30k higher in base salary. Convatec should be ashamed. Most of us are not even making living wages working here.

What do they expect for a laughable 60k as starting base? They get what they pay for. Shame on Convatec indeed.

In addition to the stellar highly experienced, skilled employees, the monthly Townhall calls, regional calls never inflate/exaggerate successes. When these expertly trained, savvy, sales reps state that an account with a total potential of 5K in incremental/new business, has resulted in 100K of incremental/new business, one can rest assured that this is factual, and probably understated.

Many of the top business schools- too many to name, incorporate ConvaTec’s management practices into their curriculum as an example of how to retain and motivate employees. Employees don’t leave ConvaTec. They retire from ConvaTec. It’s probably easier to become a navy seal, get a job with Google, than to secure a highly coveted sales position with this universally admired company.

ROL - this is hilarious! I will assume that the poster is joking. The only people who stay long enough to retire cannot get hired elsewhere or are too old to work hard enough to land a new job. They keep their head down, don't make waves, just play the game. The company is so desperate now that they are rehiring reps that were fired years ago.

Too funny! Keep the hilarious posts coming. Yeah I think this a joke. ConvaTec has over a 30% yearly turnover rate for sales people. There are regions with even a higher yearly turnover rate. One region has just one rep left from the original team that was there about a year ago. Customers have to be growing very tired of of this revolving door. This has been going on for a number of years. There are zero signs that management is doing ANYTHING to deal with this. Very sad. There is little pride among the reps that realize what is really going on. Instead of discussing the reasons for losses, management has these poor inexperienced and clueless reps talking about bogus success stories that lead to nothing on company wide calls. These poor reps are pawns. Shame on ConvaTec management.

Did everyone enter their 776 calls for the week? Don’t worry about actually selling anything. Convatec only cares about how many call you enter. Unrealistic expectations.

The micromanaging is to be expected with an inexperienced sales force. But the upside are the innovative products that we are fortunate to promote. For example, my presentation when selling the Avelle negative pressure device, focuses on how well the batteries work in their tv remote control devices at home. If they ask about the Avelle pump itself, I let them know that it doesn’t work with their patients, but it’s perfectly suited to drain their fish tanks at home.

Entering my 300 fake calls this week so leadership can get off on it. I realize that I no longer even have time to follow up on the calls and evaluations that I do get. I am too busy making 109 calls a day. Quality over quantity is what leads to wins. This is not a Pharma company. The Convatec leadership team do not know what they are doing. Entering 1 call in MS Dynamics takes 15-20 mins. Stop being cheap and invest in Sales Force.

Why are there so many openings here? I was contacted by a recruiter so thought I would take a peek. Lots of Ostomy positions. Are people fleeing, being let go, or expansion territories?

Good place?

Thank you in advance.

1. Your company sucks.

Learn this son: Companies hire mostly young people, right? So, the people that stay with your god awful company are likely ones that got hired when they were young and dumb and didn't understand the corporate sales mess that they were entering was a terrible job. they likely bought the kool aid. So, they stay and get old and still drink the kool aid to the bitter end, thinking that they have a great job at convacteac or whatever your terrible company is called. some, understand that they are idiots, but they burdened themselves with a big mortgage, a crazy spouse, silly kids, whatever, so they stay on for the paycheck. regardless, their job sucks and their lives are probably worse.

good luck.

save your money and don't get married or have children, and at least you have a chance for a decent life.

This is so funny. You just made me laugh out loud. Pretty much 100% true.

Too funny and spot on with avelle. Shame on ConvaTec for promoting this product. I thought as sales reps we were supposed to do what is in the best interest of our customers and their patients. The only people that benefit from selling avelle are the reps and company. I no longer talk about this product with my customers.

Joe and Ross are deplorable, the worst I have ever seen. Joe actually created a contest last quarter to see how many fake daily calls we could enter. Ross has not once visited a regional group, sits behind his computer all day in Atlanta, barking orders for everyone to input their daily calls. Everyone has quit over this micromanaging daily call input crap.Get ready, it will be 8 daily calls you will need to fake next month!! :)
