So excited Blondine's daughter got hired on!

To clarify...the answer to this lady's self-centered announcement about her to daughter is for us to be more self-reflective about our attitudes about how it is OK for a member of upper management to be self-centered?
Spot On!!! Her daughter should be the first to be laid off!! Just can't believe the arrogance and entitlement of management. SICKENING!

“appropriate to start talking about your daughter getting a job on the same phone call that 450 people are being told they won't be here in the future.”

yeah, the timing wasn’t the best... blame it on unbridled enthusiasm (and stupidity).

She congratulated her daughter. She did not congratulate "someone else". If she said, "hey Joe is Spokane...congratulations on XYZ" - that would be congratulating someone else.

I agree with you on one thing - it is clear that someone does NOT get it.

If you look through the entirety of this thread....you will see that everyone except you does get it. Without exception, everyone understands how completely off-base that comment was. How completely ill-advised, how completely out of place, how completely self-centered, and how completely wrong it was.

Blondine, I am sure, did not mean for it to sound like management does not give a damn about the 400-450 people being laid off. But that is the impression that comment gives. It means you do not grasp the severity of the situation for the 400-450 that will be affected.

Everyone else on this thread understands that. Everyone except one person. Often times, if you are the only one with an opinion on a topic and virtually no one else agrees with you...it is a good time to stop and consider that you might be mistaken.

And the answer to this one is not very difficult - you are seriously mistaken.

I do hope you are not Kathy. I do hope you are not an ET member. And I do hope you are not in management on any level. There is no doubt that organizations take on the personality and traits of their leaders...it cannot be helped or avoided....leadership, good or bad, trickles down. NNI is in a serious time of transition...from Doug's comments it certainly sounds like alot is set to change between now and the end of the year and then again in 2021. In the midst of all of this change, NNI is going to need guidance and need leadership....and I certainly am hoping that we have better leaders than people who would think it is complete appropriate to start talking about your daughter getting a job on the same phone call that 450 people are being told they won't be here in the future.

Ha! Funny in your self centered world that you feel inclined to speak on behalf of everyone. Not surprised - typical of your behavior. And, you’re a really angry person. Why all the hate? Why act as if 400-450 being laid off means the end of the world? Life is too short to be an angry douchebag.

A mom was happy for her daughter. That’s all that happened. You’ve put a lot of effort to vilify her and anyone who doesn’t agree with you. Let it go.

Executives are held to a higher standard. Full stop. You’re making 500K to 1,000,000 dollars a year.
If you make a mistake, you should get your ass handed to you. It’s called the big leagues.

Sure. She made the mistake of congratulating her daughter when a bunch of self centered crybabies were on the line. She should’ve known that you were too egotistical and immature to think of anyone but yourself. Big mistake on her behalf.

In yet another classic display of total disconnection from the field...
Why in the hell would you tell hundreds of people about to lose their job that you are so proud that your daughter will now be working for NNI?
(with a significant amount of job security insulated by nepotism)
SMH
This takes me back to the Andy, SNOY, and BOPA days of 8 years ago or so. All of them bringing in their cronies while the HQ sycophants claim "40 consecutive quarters of double digit growth proves that we only hire the best!"

Tell you what I would have liked to have seen - EVERYBODY on the call have an opportunity to congratulate a family member on the call.

We could have started on the West Coast like in Washington state and just got the ball rolling...”hey, Clint from Pullman, Washington here...and I would like to congratulate my son Andrew, he got the game-winning hit in his 12-yr old select league last weekend”, etc etc etc

About 80 hours later we could return to the topic of layoffs after everyone got a chance to congratulate someone.

You're arguing with what my manager once laughingly called our corporate apologist. This is the same "gal" that defended one of our leader's comments onstage that his wife thought that the suit he wore showed off his butt. Just let it go, you wont make any headway. Let it go...

Actually, they’re just ‘arguing’ with a Dad who thinks congratulating your kid isn’t a bad thing. But, some folks find a way to be offended by anything, I guess.

Now, back to our solemn faces and moments of silence until the anonymous CP poster gives us the green light to resume our lives....

Just shut up. Anyone with a pea size brain knows what she did was wrong. I guess your brain is smaller than the smallest mammalian brain.

Sure. I don’t agree with your delicate, self-centered world, so it must be me who’s the problem. Ok. Only an egomaniac thinks what she did was wrong.

Let us know when we can go back to being proud of our kids again. I assume you’ll be ashamed of yours until we get the call letting us know whether or not we have jobs.

A company call discussing layoffs is not the place to talk about your daughters new job. Celebrate with the family, friends, neighbors whoever they know in their personal life. It's foolish to celebrate your daughter with strangers who do not know her personally, and some of whom will be jobless in a few months. Grow up and grow some brain too.

Unf*#king believable! We’re all waiting on baited breath to hear if we are going to be impacted or employed in the next few weeks BUT we should be proud that Blondine’s daughter is now part of the NovoNordisk family. Absolute BS at its best! No sensitivity at all!!!
“Isn’t that a conflict of interest “didn’t we sign some paperwork related to that?

I believe she said her niece.
