She congratulated her daughter. She did not congratulate "someone else". If she said, "hey Joe is Spokane...congratulations on XYZ" - that would be congratulating someone else.
I agree with you on one thing - it is clear that someone does NOT get it.
If you look through the entirety of this thread....you will see that everyone except you does get it. Without exception, everyone understands how completely off-base that comment was. How completely ill-advised, how completely out of place, how completely self-centered, and how completely wrong it was.
Blondine, I am sure, did not mean for it to sound like management does not give a damn about the 400-450 people being laid off. But that is the impression that comment gives. It means you do not grasp the severity of the situation for the 400-450 that will be affected.
Everyone else on this thread understands that. Everyone except one person. Often times, if you are the only one with an opinion on a topic and virtually no one else agrees with you...it is a good time to stop and consider that you might be mistaken.
And the answer to this one is not very difficult - you are seriously mistaken.
I do hope you are not Kathy. I do hope you are not an ET member. And I do hope you are not in management on any level. There is no doubt that organizations take on the personality and traits of their leaders...it cannot be helped or avoided....leadership, good or bad, trickles down. NNI is in a serious time of transition...from Doug's comments it certainly sounds like alot is set to change between now and the end of the year and then again in 2021. In the midst of all of this change, NNI is going to need guidance and need leadership....and I certainly am hoping that we have better leaders than people who would think it is complete appropriate to start talking about your daughter getting a job on the same phone call that 450 people are being told they won't be here in the future.
