Just curious if Merck changed the severance package for those laid off a few weeks ago? I know they didn't get the WARN period but hoping the severance package is still the same.

You limp noodled reject Heeeee Heeeeee Heeeeee
No Warn Period with future layoffs!!!!! Merck has learned that if they layoff 100-125 at a time no need for Warn period. Must be over 300 at one time. Merck will now do mini-layoffs during the year to save money. This is the same reason the moved all Floating Holidays to end of year. You can not claim them.
The severance is the same. Merck is run by an attorney. They don't want the aggravation of employee lawsuits. They know people won't sign away their legal rights to sue for a small seperation package.
The bigger carrot they hold over people's head is the pension and medical bridging. You can lose it if you don't sign away your rights to later sue.
Listen up fatty queen. You talk about packages so much because hubby ain't doing much for you in that department. When was the last time you had a day where you where doing something more than merely living. You must have one crappy life. I will make it better. If you don't post I will get you a years supply of food from Dixie Cafe. Best fried okra you will ever have. Think about it? Enough to fill that fat face for a year.
That's a offer you can't refuse.
First of all to the above post: unfortunately real estate is very expensive on the East Coast and we have paved roads ! For everyone else: you should do well on a severance package if 60ish or so. The first thing one should do is pay off your mortgage as this will alleviate most of the financial stress for you and you can concentrate on kids college, cars, etc.
Most of the people on this site are northerners. They don't have our value system. They will spend 500k on a house (not a home) and sacrifice everything for it (even their family). They have no clue what Dixie Cafe or okra is. It's tragic but that's how they are. Family is very low on the priority scale for them. "When was the last time you had a day where you where doing something more than merely living" is normal for them. They wear that like a badge of honor. The have no sense of community or family. They could care less about family legacy.
