Seattle Genoptix Position

TheGenoptix hematopathology business IS an established lab (that is why Novartis bought them), larger than most of the competition. Also Flow, molecular, cytogenetics/FISH are linked together very closely and one component cannot be spun off/sold....Novartis is leveraging the established lab concept and upgrading it to an FDA compliant lab for their pipeline of companion diagnostics....I think it is a great business model

I said all of the commercial business. Not just flow. What happened to smith-Kline Labs, what happened to corning Labs, what happened to Genzyme Labs (IMPATH), All purchased by biopharma, destroyed and sold!!!

So laaa dee daa daa do dee da da!!

smith-Kline Labs -- Purchased by Quest

corning Labs -- became Quest

Genzyme Labs -- purchased by LabCorp.

All three were purchased by another lab not "biopharma".

It's sooooooo easy proving you are a Moron!

They were all Started or Purchased by biopharma first. Are you 12 and do not remember that Impath was bought by GENZYME, and that METPATH was bought by Corning before Corning was bought by Novartis.

Your history of Metpath is wrong. In 1982, MetPath was acquired by what was then known as Corning Glass Works, and subsequently renamed Corning Clinical Laboratories. In 1997 Quest Diagnostics becomes an independent company as a spin-off from Corning. Check your facts before you post. Metpath nor Quest was every affiliated with Novartis. Please check your facts before posting.

Before anyone calls me a disgruntled former rep, I want to admit I left the company.

Genoptix has great people, a great lab and great pathologist. Client services is by far, "the Best", of any organization! Logistics and marketing are both great too. The problem started when Tina and crew set the company up for failure with the 2010 goals. From what I hear, they wanted to sell the company but it was worth too much so they set numbers to lower the stock price so they could get out. This is also the reason they hired the proven team of failures that Petebob represent. Take a look at their past companies. What they do is ruin culture and provide zero value. Its almost a crime that they collect a pay check.

To anyone looking to go to Genoptix, I valued my time there and am very happy that I had the opportunity to work for what was a great company. I only hope that Novartis can bring Genoptix back to the way it was......because the way it is can only be described as SAD.

I wish my former associates all the best and hope that you all make tons of money and can overlook what Petebob have done....GOOD LUCK and continue success!

Thanks for the well wishes...feels like we need it.

Well said. Feel the same.

Novartis Purchased part of Corning. I was an executive at METPATH!

Novartis Purchased part of Corning.
Ciba-Geigy A.G. (precursor to Novartis) bought Corning Inc.'s share of the Ciba-Corning Diagnostics Corporation, a joint venture in which each company had owned half. Ciba-Corning was based in Medfield, Mass. This eventually became Chiron Diagnostics. MetPath, Inc. was located in Teaneck, NJ. In 1982, MetPath was acquired by what was then known as Corning Glass Works, and subsequently renamed Corning Clinical Laboratories. In 1997 Quest Diagnostics becomes an independent company as a spin-off from Corning.

Simple math tells me you're a fraud or an old fool who's off his meds!! Most of the people on this board weren't even born then.

1982? I was on my second stint in rehab during the Carter administration.

Yes, MetPath, Corning, Quest, Wal-Mart Labs; I think we all get it. However back then, these labs were truly independent from their umbrellas. CCL reps were oblivious to Corning, SBCL to SB Pharma and NHL to Revlon. Clinical Labs were dragging down the profit margins on these corporations and subsequently dropped like a Trump bride.

Exactly, so that is why it makes no sence that Novartis wanted Genoptix!

Dear competitor-you used the word "sence", which really isn't a proper word. I looked up "sence" in the urban dictionary and now it all makes SENSE.
1. This is how idiots spell sense, since they have no sense, they can't fucking spell it.
2. Shortened form of Sensimilla (Marajuana), a bastardization of the Spanish phrase "sin semillla" - Without seeds.
3. When you ram something very large up your bosses backside for continually picking you up on your spelling.

Whoa ... (knock, knock, knock). Hey dude listen up. That's my skull!!

Hey Spicoli, if you're going to scold someone solely based on a misspelled word, then you should learn how to spell "Marijuana." Marajuana isn't a proper word.

interviewed for this position with a manager that looks like she is in her 20's. she was obviously green and totally incapable of conducting a proper meeting. asked questions about previous rep and she made remarks about him leaving for greener pastures but wanting back in. she made a remark about people "bitching" about something which totally took me by surprise. totally unprofessional. didn't move forward and was lied to that they were moving on with another candidate. whatever. just be polite enough to say that you weren't interested. after reading these posts, i realize that i am much better off anyway.

That is good feedback....wish there was someone around at HQ who would receive it, unfortunately there isn't. While this will likely be a great place to be once Novartis finishes cutting out the fat I wouldn't join now without the expectation and preparation for frustration.

Well played stoner! Will inform Urban Dictionary of their faux pas.

You're getting your "proper" words from an Urban Dictionary? You don't see the irony there? They're not real lexicographers; you do know that. Right? If 'marijuana is defined in an urban dictionary it would state it's a misspelling of the actual word. Get it? Irony? Anything?

Urban dictionary was used for the mispelled word SENCE, and gave 3 "street" definitions for the mispelled word. In the 3rd definition, Urban Dictionary mispelled marijuana. I get it-do you get it?-good. Now get back to work before I bust a cap in yo punk ass:)

HAHHAHHAHA

I typed SENSE wrong on purpose. I love to get all the arrogant pricks on this board worked up. It’s the same way I sell against you and kick your ass. You are so wrapped up in the small stuff because of your Pharmaceutical Rep arrogance that you miss the big picture. That is why you just don't get it. Now go snort your COKECAINE and have some fun hallucinating some more.

The person they wanted to hire must have declined the offer. They are interviewing another group of candidates.
