Seattle Genoptix Position

Anyone know anything about this sales position? What happened to the former rep? WHat about current manager? Outlook in 2011? anything that might help with a decision about this territory would be helpful. Thank you

Run like Forest did! Petebob ruined our company. Even if he did leave due to Pathwork BS he is in a better place and will kick ASS there too! I hate to tell the asswipe that made the comment. The Genoptix line is complete BS too. Reflex testing? Take a closer look at the probes/markers and Jak2/MPL on your cases. You will see that our Compass is not even close to "reflex" testing. It's a total rip off to the system! And yes, I will be out of here on May first. Had to get paid for the large account that came on board in Jan. By then they will have left Genoptix anyway. It's bout that time the first $18k EOB will hit.

Wow...so old rep was very good, and went on to the competitor huh? Thanks for the replies. The overwhelming posts on tis site is so negative and very recent. Other companies one does research on, you can normally see some negativity here and there...but my god, this board is buzzing right now about Genoptix.

So, where would you all rank Genoptix's testing and service to its competitors? Do they have any benefits over others? Pricing doesn't matter to me if they can back it up with products and services, but where do you think they rank in relation to the competition?

Thanks for the responses!

Check-out Google and look at some of the Law Suits that were filed before Novartis bought them. They do a lot of overkill and unethical billing of insurance carriers.

Also, Novartis has set us up like a Pharma with call reports, micro managers etc. Be careful!

Nice try poser, get a life and go back to your own board troll.

One thing you have to watch out for on these boards is the competition answering posts as though they work here. As you see above "before Novatis bought them." "They do" followed up by "Novartis has set us" ???The person who replied to this doesn't know what side of the fence they're on.
Reality-Pathwork is not our competition, they test for tumors of unknown origin. Novartis hasn't made changes in the way the previous post implies, actually everythings been pretty positive in that respect. My suggestion would be 1.not doing your research on this board 2.make up your own mind and do what's best for you.

Several great reps have left and are leaving. The company has fallen apart. Positions open coast to coast. That should tell you something. Only come here if you have no other option

I noticed exactly what you are talking about, and I agree with you about research and Cafe Pharma, not everything can be taken as the truth. Disgruntled former employees looking to bash their old company, but the company I am working for now is very different than the sentiment that I read here, there just isn't much negative sentiment and mostly happy reports, so that is why the amount of negatives is a little shocking to me. The sense I get from whom I have spoke with so far is that the Novartis move could help infuse more money into R&D and help lead to something positive in the future. I was also told that the Genoptix team is in pretty good shape and Novartis isn't coming in to rock the boat and change what the company and employees have been successful at so far. So I get to see and hear from some employees from the rep level as well as others from a higher level, and have to try and decide where the actual company and moral really sit. To me it looks like a strong company that was just bought by a strong pharma company which can't be all bad. All jobs and companies have the bullshit...

Thanks for the insight everyone!

The rep in Seattle left because despite having the results, skills and past experience to take over the vacant DM position, he was given nothing more than a "courtesy" interview by BB and the knucklehead gang. Then they decided to go with a 27 year old Twinkie who Tina is in love with and who has not a day of management experience in her life.

The PeteBob leadership also continued to explore their asses with their thumbs while the Seattle rep's million dollar account was wooed by Caris and others who were willing to share the pie with the account. GXDX did nothing and that business will erode rather quickly now that those customers have experienced first hand the company's lack or interest, ability and creativity to find ways to move into the 21st century of the healthcare business.

JZ did the math and got while the getting was good. It was a good decision on his part regardless of how things go at Pathworks.

100% accurate. End of story.

Yes you are correct I do not work for any of these companies. I am a business and aquisiton consultant for the biopharm industry. Novartis is going to set up genoptix like a pharma rep job. Moderate base year and quarterly bonus structure.

They will watch the marketplace for about eighteen months. If the business erodes or the issues of running a lab get to be too much for them they will sell the comer ill flow business to either GE Healthcare (Clarient) or worse case Quest.

I would follow this merger very carefully if I was an employee.

Meant "commercial".

You sound fairly ignorant and since i work for the competiton I hope Genoptix engages your services right away.

There is no differentiating value in flow. The low costs to entry are reflected by the fact that many physician practices have begun performing their own flow and more will soon join the ranks.

Any more pearls of wisdom?

Where did you go to college? Tibet? Your an ass. You can not read or understand anything you stupid jerk. That is EXACTLY what I said. There is no reason for Novartis to stay with the FLOW product. It is not going to differntiate them or ANYTHING, so they will sell the business to an established lab. LEARN TO READ AND COMPREHEND YOU JERKOFF

It appears the last time you took it up the as you sufferred brain damange Mr. consultant.

You sure do sound intelligent with your opinion that Novartis would sell off the flow part of their hematopathology business. Stick to your area of expertise in sucking cock and stay off the lab boards Moron.

TheGenoptix hematopathology business IS an established lab (that is why Novartis bought them), larger than most of the competition. Also Flow, molecular, cytogenetics/FISH are linked together very closely and one component cannot be spun off/sold....Novartis is leveraging the established lab concept and upgrading it to an FDA compliant lab for their pipeline of companion diagnostics....I think it is a great business model

Before anyone calls me a disgruntled former rep, I want to admit I left the company.

Genoptix has great people, a great lab and great pathologist. Client services is by far, "the Best", of any organization! Logistics and marketing are both great too. The problem started when Tina and crew set the company up for failure with the 2010 goals. From what I hear, they wanted to sell the company but it was worth too much so they set numbers to lower the stock price so they could get out. This is also the reason they hired the proven team of failures that Petebob represent. Take a look at their past companies. What they do is ruin culture and provide zero value. Its almost a crime that they collect a pay check.

To anyone looking to go to Genoptix, I valued my time there and am very happy that I had the opportunity to work for what was a great company. I only hope that Novartis can bring Genoptix back to the way it was......because the way it is can only be described as SAD.

I wish my former associates all the best and hope that you all make tons of money and can overlook what Petebob have done....GOOD LUCK and continue success!
