Saving Jack - your CEO shows his true personality...

I do know the other side to this story so let me tell you something...it would be off-label to treat Jack and that is why insurance companies are not willing to cover it...the doctor wants to try our medication on Jack but it is against FDA to give our medication away at no cost to an off-label promotion

Think about it...Shire would be the kind of company to help this child you idiot...they would do antyhign in their power to help him by unfortunatley it is the lawyers that prevent us and not Shire.

yes it can be done...another company did it

Agreed! So it looks like it can be done...too bad we can't follow their example. Sad for Jack and his family. I have an 8 year old little boy and I can only begin to imagine the pain they mus be feeling knowing that their little boy is going to die and that it could have possibly been prevented

An FDA policy known as "compassionate use" allows someone with a serious or life-threatening disease to ask a drug company for an experimental drug. Companies often say yes: The FDA approved 974 compassionate use arrangements in fiscal year 2013....

Doesn't surprise me that Shire is refusing to help this child. This seems like a perfect opportunity to show Shire's so called "BRAVE" values.
Come on Shire- Be as BRAVE as the people you help!

Someone who won't fight for what is right is because "We all have families of our own to support and guess what? - there are many people in line that would love to have our jobs" is a coward. It is not name calling. It is a fact. You are a coward.

BTW, isn't "troll" name calling coward?

The coward is still acting like a coward.
