Saturday Travel for Eye Care BU

Why the hell are they making us travel on a Saturday and have a meeting on a Sunday? I am new to Shire but kind of nervous that this BU might be a micro-managed disaster if this is how leadership feels about personal time on a weekend. And I don't want someone bitching about us getting a paycheck because working on family time is not a worth the $ and I could find a job other places for less $ but a better feel.

Does Shire always do this with their meetings? What other things do that are crazy like this? I'm glad I still have my resume floating out there...
 












I know it's ridiculous isn't it. To answer your questions, YES. At BL Kathy and Perry ALWAYS made you travel on a Sunday (which is ridiculous Imo as well). Traveling on a Saturday is a new low just for some dumb dinner that most likely will be crappy food and cheap alcohol. Most good companies, actually value employee time, they don't start until later on Mondays so you fly in on Monday. Some (or so I've heard) even pay for free time activities because they actually give you free time, imagine that! I say keep your eyes peeled for better opportunities. I am.
 






Get ready for the one ass kisser who is the CP cop here telling you "that you should be glad you have a job" and " you are nithing but a fired troll". You know, the one who settles for mediocrity in exchange for affection from the VP of sales. Most people think they are one in the same.

If you don't like traveling on Saturday for work than just leave the company! Whiners are not welcomed at the Shire!
 












I hope these types of antics are not the tip of the iceberg with the new Eye Care BU because I didn't switch companies to be treated like a 10 year old. Holy Shit I thought companies didn't do this anymore!
 












Saturday travel + KK + PS = micro management.
Get used to it. These leaders didn't just show up here yesterday. You joined this company knowing they were here. If you think a tiger can change their stripes, then think that. It is simple minded to do so however.

It is very simple minded. But look who Shire targeted for their eye care reps - beaten down, simple minded B+L reps. They were easy pickin'. Pay them a little more, show them a new toy, and there you have it. Suckered in to the micro world of KK and PS. Good luck. These same reps will jump ship again when another company comes calling.
They're just like a cheating partner. They'll do it again.

Given the state of pharma sales force layoffs, we should be thankful for our jobs! Bring on Saturday travel, I have a mortgage and kids' tuition bills to pay! I happily will work long hours to protect my family! Go get a drink and shut the hell up!

Yes you have to leave on a Sat., boo hoo...but you get a ck direct deposited every other week, company car, plus benefits and a nice 491k. And so what if KK wants to cut cost, isn't that kinda her job to work on a budget. If you don't like it, leave! I hear Valeant has a lot of openings.
