Do you ever sit in a POA/NSM listening to that dolt, MM spewing recycled corporate sewage from his stupid pie hole and wonder, how did this useless tool become my bosses boss and how the actual F**k did I wind up here? Listening to this idiot? What went wrong in my career?

Every time he opens his mouth.....

He is a barely upright moron.

Do you remember the meeting where MM stood in front of the room and said he was going to teach us all how to "quarterback a script" and then said all scripts should be sent to the specialty pharmacy in Ohio? That was the same meeting where a rep stood on stage and said she follows the moviprep script to the patient by asking the office the patients name and following it to the pharmacy? GREAT TIMES.

I remember that meeting. I also remember sitting in a car with my manager listening in on a live call where MM pushed him to direct all Xifaxan scripts to a single specialty pharmacy and told him his job was at risk. Shortly thereafter, several reps in the region were fired for following the playbook pushing all scripts through Benzer SP. As if by magic, MM skated untouched even though it was his strategy that got everyone in trouble. Funny how life works.

It wasn't just MM who walked away from that. When those reps got fired AY the manager walked away clean too. She did nothing to stand up for the individuals who were falling her orders. MM and AY are the absolute worst leaders and horrible people.

Yet none of you said a word to HR about any of that, so to them it never happened. Instead they send MM to P Club. Have some balls and say something, dont just post it on CP.

Here is the sad part. Several of us went to HR including our manager. We talked about it and got AD on a conference call. We also reported it to Compliance and legal in 2018. They documented it and did NOTHING! Our manager ended up on a PIP in October and then got fired in January 2019. Look it up.

No, I can honestly say I spoke to AMY from HR about it. She claimed she was going to look into it. About three months later those three reps in Cleveland were fired for it. From that moment on it was clear that HR is there to support upper management and not do the right thing.

Dude you are an absolute fool if you think HR is in place to do anything other than protect upper management. It was brought to Amy's attention both before and after those reps in question were let go.

Thats not always the case - you just have to have enough evidence. The new HR guy is much more “neutral” than Amy was.

Neither AY or BW got fired I know that...

And they were the ones pushing the reps to direct prescriptions all under the direction of MM. If you know the story then you also know winning at Salix is a “win at all costs” proposition. If your numbers are good and you violate compliance, they put you up on stage at the National meeting. The moment you miss your goal, you are on the radar. So much fun working here.

Salix HR don’t “support” upper management, they cover for them. They know full well the shady dealings going on in the NE region and they bend over backwards to keep it under wraps.

How are bonuses here? Do people seem to make goal every quarter? What’s the average payout a PCP has made in a year. Do people really make 12,500 every quarter? Or 50,000 a year in bonuses. Is it realistic

Two thirds of the sales force don’t come close to hitting objectives most quarters. The bonus is OK but it’s not $50k a year like they sell you in the interviews. They use the huge target bonus to offset the lower than industry average salaries, lousy cheap company cars and weak vacation package.

So would you say an average yearly bonus of 30,000 is more likely than the 50,000 they tell you?? What’s an average per year people are making?

$30K is probably about right. But understand this; if you aren’t hitting $12,500 a quarter and that happens two quarters in a row, you are on the radar. Coaching plans and PIPs fall around here like rain. We work for leaders who lost their shirts when VRX hit the skids five years ago. Most are in houses they cannot afford and living way beyond their means. Their payouts are tied to yours. Do the math.

And this is the problem. Other companies don’t just get rid of people after two quarters of bad numbers. So much is dictated by managed care now and other companies realize that.

You can have a rep that is doing everything right but has bad numbers. This is the problem with Salix. The constant threat of having your job pulled out from under you causes the toxic culture that exist here.

Most large pharma companies do not operate this way anymore. They actually give their employees job security.

Many long time ethical pharma companies did away with sales goals years ago. Lilly and GSK use customer service metrics and MBOs to evaluate and pay out their IC plan.

Salix is a shady, win at all costs, pressure cooker. You are as good as your weekly number. Nothing more and nothing less. And the leadership team gets paid off your bonus plus a percentage. So many conversations like this; “You know that rep is costing you money. Get them on a plan and get them out and you can climb the ranking.” Guys like Mohan brag constantly about clearing out entire teams and how that got them to PClub. The question is, at what cost? How many reps and livelihoods did they ruin to win a stupid trip to a sub par all inclusive hotel? Was it worth it? Later in life when they need a reference or support, will anyone be there to help them? Probably not. This industry is small. What comes around, goes around and eventually it will land at their feet.

Brilliant and true.
