Respiratory Biologic

OMG I can’t believe I even visit this board, I can’t believe the uninformed people that post as if they are informed! Very confident IDIOTS!! Maybe you can’t internally “ask” for more than $130K, but I’m an external that had WAY more than that THROWN at me to come over!! I don’t know if it’s just hurtful for people to admit AZ pays people so much when they themselves make way less, I’m not a psychologist, but I wouldn’t be here if I was only paid $130K bc my previous company paid me way more than that in Resp bio. Why would I come to AZ for less than I was already making? You have to understand that no one selling xolair, Nucala, or the Teva bio drug was making less than $130K so why the hell would they leave their company to come to AZ for less??? That is simply the pay scale for BIOLOGICS, not for AZ. AZ had to be generous to BE COMPETITIVE to get already high-paid people to come over. I don’t know what they paid internals but they would have no externals if they capped at 130K. I made over 130K base 5 years before AZ recruited me!! Get a brain!!!

Your post is definitely aggressive, but I do have to say this person has a good point.

Sounds like they will be hiring a lot of internals because most biologic reps are already making 135-140 so why would they come to AZ for the same money

funny how that works eh? They all but refused to hire internally for years and now all of a sudden they realize it’s cheaper to promote their own. what internal person who gets promoted would do the same job that their predecessor was doing, but for way LESS money. I know of external Fasenra reps who were making $145base. Now they’re gonna pay someone $25k less to do the same job?!!!! What a slap in the face.

umm, $25 from $145 is $120. The posts you responded to shared that salaries will be $130-135 at starting point.
First, may want to go back to 2nd grade and review how to "take away" numbers.
Second, if an internal is making, oh lets say $90K with a target bonus of $28K, and they are offered a bio job at $130K (even $125K), do you think they will be upset? It's their first venture into specialty and they are getting a huge raise. The DSM is also taking a risk since they have no existing context on which to gauge.

Fucking entitled losers.

I agree. I think it is good they are hiring more internal people. It gives us an opportunity to be promoted.

If they didn’t people would just complain about that too.

Ive heard they’re only offering 120 to internals

If they could drive, a 5 year old could do this job.

Who is entitled? Everyone that thinks you deserve to be paid that much. Yes, the market dictates salary, but it’s laughable how arrogant you sales people are.

Now go get some Panera. I heard your office was hungry.

get off your high fucking horse, these companies are making huge profits from these drugs so those promoting them do well. should a baseball player make 100k a game hell no but if you can get it take it same in pharma

say there's a fasenra team in place with employees from the original bio buildout who were all external hires and they're all making $150 base. then half of that team moves over to teze and they hire internal folks to fill those spots, but only offer them each $125 base. You're telling me that they're gonna be okay doing the exact same job as their counterparts for 25 less per year? I don't think so thats huge disparity.

for the person who said no one heard that they were offering 120 base i heard the exact same thing from a rep in the west region that the bump for internals was around 15%. so if someone in speciality and were pulling a base of 100 that would be even less than 120 so...........................

Yes, but that external hire had years of resp bio experience. You have none. They got paid for their experience. In a few years if you get a bio job, then you too can jump companies and get paid for your experience.
