Reorg Thread Oct 2022

What a load to bare?

How about what s load?????

This is why you don’t promote people without real sales experience. Checking boxes through “months” of development experience does not lend itself to proper leadership at the regional level

funny choice to use “bare” instead of “bear”

Freudian slip anyone?
I can't get past " families’ "

FFS, how dumb does a person have to be, to butcher basic grammar that badly?

Just my opinion, but how can you be a successful RSD with only one year of pharmaceutical sales experience!?!?!? It’s insane. But then again, it explains a lot.
One week is enough to know that a pharmaceutical rep job is neither complicated nor requires any skill. For example, the idiotic punctuation in your post …

I find Lillian to be an incredibly bright and sharp business leader. The jabs at her are uncalled for. And like the previous poster, it doesn’t take long to understand what the job of a rep is like. Think about it, barriers to entry in this line of work is so low. What actual qualifications are needed to become a pharma rep? How many have actual healthcare or business experience? We are all very replaceable and until you and I gain skills that are so indispensable and unique, then these reorgs will continue to occur.

Healthcare in America is rapidly evolving, and I’m glad to be at a place where they are trying something new and adapting to the marketplace.

Do I think the way this recent reorg was executed sucks? 200%! Nobody should have to wait in panic for 48 hours whether they still have a job or not… Layoffs in general are terrible. But part of it is on us. Take on a new skill, develop a niche value add that will make you indispensable. How many of you are still scared of opening an Excel spreadsheet, let alone analyze your data in Wizard? Times are changing and you have to change too or get left behind.

this is why I am getting out.

Good for you that you were not the recipient of her illogical vindictiveness. By no means does she define “leader”. Petty mean girl.

Try to comprehend before commenting. The question is how do you get to a RSD position with just one year of pharma sales and NO DM experience???? That’s a significant lack of credentials.

so fuck you!!

Just focus on getting your lunch orders correct. You’ll never be in her position, dumbass!!!! There’s extra punctuation so that you’ll understand the message.

Getting out?? Into what?? I want out but have watched many like you find different paths only to end up wanting back into the money and schedule and benefits of pharma. I want out but haven't figured out how to get out and stay out and be happy and have money. I do appreciate the post. It's one I would have written 5 years ago

Wow, just MF wow.

You are about to (rightfully and likely belatedly) be run over by the karma train at full steam speed. The good news is that in a decade or so -- IF you have some iota of a soul buried somewhere deep within that rotting pile of greed, worthlessness, and narcissism -- you MIGHT just see today's layoffs as a blessing.

My money is on that you won't.

The guy speaks truth. What's your problem with that? A lot of people have a hate/love relationship with their pharma position. You're very very lucky if everything is sunshine and roses in your position my friend but being a commercial field employee is harder than ever now. The pay and bennies are great and I feel very fortunate but it can be tough to feel like you're making any kind of difference out here some days. I know plenty of people that leave and come back. Depending on the situation of each person laid off, yes, fore some it'll be a blessing but for others it could really be difficult especially if they've got kids and a family to support. Have some empathy.

My bet is karma will very likely come visit YOU in the near future and you may be feeling just like the person you responded to.

All Key Account Managers laid off and now have to apply to senior health system manager roles (which are doubling in # compared to # of existing KAMs). Reason is KAM is pay grade 30 and new positions are 31.

Guessing 3/7 reps in CC or CV displaced. Sprinkle of DM and RBDs also displaced. Overall layoffs probably a little under half of entire sales force (spanning from reps to RBDs).

Somebody pls confirm.
I heard 350? At this point it doesn’t matter. Really. The CREDO is dead. And so goes the heart and soul of what made J&J so great. No more. It died 10 years ago. Instead we now have arrogant, ignorant “sensitive” trophy kids. I’m out

Any of you who didn't have a side hustle going on during your time in J&J (or any pharma company) have nobody to blame but yourselves.

Working 3 hrs a day (unless with mgr...wink.wink) here, 3 days a week should have given you plenty of time to go back to school for another profession or started your own business.

Yes, my those who I know that were let go were top performers and dedicated to the company/products. I am mind blown by the decisions made, they way they were executed, and what’s to come for this diabolical company. Even though I’m still standing, I still lost. We all did.
