Reorg is coming!!

Is there any leader that is perfect? FB has his own style of managing and also Leslie's right hand on a couple of strategic initiatives.

Not a leader. A master of internal politics. Bullying and intimidation are his methods, there is no mentorship or development originating from him. To be fair, there are very few leaders within Ethicon, and thus no one to model to the managers. Ever take FB to your customers? I've never seen someone talk over and force a conversation like he does. Embarassing. There's a reason why he is a serial dater and has had no long-term personal relationships for 30 years. I remember when he forced Twitter onto all of us years ago. He liked to send his "Face to face meetings are great. You get to explain to me face to face why your Twitter list doesn't reflect mine." emails to the field. His emails to his managers were even worse. If you have to threaten termination, no one is following you out of respect. I suppose he has some redeeming qualities, but leadership is not one of them.
 


















I dont know if Ethicon leadership can ever be “fixed” for an ideal state. They are J&J lifers, cisgender white men and women. They don’t lead, they micro manage. They come with biases and assumptions of what a good J&J leader looks like and they try to force fit you to meet that mould while saying “bring your authentic self to work”. Every D2 and VP “look” the same. There are no consequences for bad behavior unless its super bad and there are multiple witnesses such as the case with DK and HS. These managers are extra careful while leading and ensure there are no witnesses when they say shit! It appears as they enjoy screwing with your life and career giving them some sadistic pleasure. This company will rot and go down in history as the worst leadership impact ever

your leader is Nef who is horrible but she is worth a couple of check marks for someone’s YEPA
Look at the AVPs, Cathie Quinn, really?? Does she ever say anything intelligent? David Hogan drink with him or you are out, Fred Blatchford how many reps has he slept with?

The money isn’t over at Intuitive and JnJwill never be able to compete in the robotic space, they are just too dumb and slow. The only way it works for them is if they can say well is good enough isn’t it?

I would flush out the dead weight. The AVPs should be gone. They are not part of sales and the positions should be taken to New Jersey so that they can sit around a table together and talk about how great they are even if there isn’t a hospital or surgeon that even knows who they are

stop using the New York Symphony example on how they judged people based on talent by having them try out behind a curtain. JNJ openly promotes hiring based on race and gender. Managers openly say that’s a great candidate and would be a great fit but I’m being told I have to hire a person based on things other than ability. I don’t care if the entire team is female, male, black or white. I want to work with a group that is focused on the customer and the business.

JNJ will pay you a large sum of money to make it disappear. But if you go to them they will cover it up
Then I would get a lawyer and sue. If you go to JNJ they will bury it to protect the Johnson & Johnson name
And be very clear their are different rules for men and women at JNJ. I’ve heard it come out of my AVPs mouth many times

There is no reason to keep everyone at Ethicon. The robot is delayed and the sales force will turn over many times before it launches

move to IQVIA and build a robot sales force if it ever launches

They don’t need a rep for that....it’s all driven by GPO contracts and you’re useless. It’s one of the more irrelevant “sales rep” jobs out there

There are also douche bag managers making their teams role play over zoom every single week. I have heard its been going on for months too! It's almost like reps are being punished for putting their lives at risk in the hospitals right now. Oh your access is down 50%? OK, just wear this n95 mask in the ones you can go into and then we will give you some busy work and BS zooms to make up for it. Maybe reps need to start suing or calling the credo hotline? Seems like war is being declared on us.
