Renasys recall

Thank you. You are a jerk. I was told this would be cleared up by a reliabe source but obviously there is a lot of gossip and incorrect infromation going around right now. Yes, I would agreee that this has completely crippled our business and it is time to move away from S&N but I did not post that message with the intention of lying and putting peoples reputations at stake. I am truly sorry and yes I am as disguted with S&N as everyone else. We were told a bunch of lies about the future and they obiously were not true.

For the most part when a medical/pharma company tells you something it's a lie. This product will never recover and the employees will all eventually either be let go or will have left.
Anyone who believes there is some regulatory miracle on the horizon is just being overly optimistic. The employees for the most part of done.

Was NPWT part of the Whistleblower Settlement announced yesterday??? S&N selling products saying they were made in the USA but were indeed made in Malaysia. What a sad company. If you are part of AWC is this not the official sign to move on? What a reputation this company has become.

GUTLESS. Have you ever been more embarrassed to work for a company. I thought the FDA things was pathetic but this was a direct shot at our VA system. I will never be comfartable wearing a S&N tag again.

Smith & Nephew Settles Whistleblower Lawsuit for $8.3 Million
Smith & Nephew agreed to pay the U.S. government just over $8.3 million to settle a whistleblower's lawsuit that accused the devicemaker of selling products manufactured in Malaysia to the Veterans Administration and passing them off as U.S.-made.

Of the $8.3 million, roughly $2.3 million will be funneled to the former employee who brought the case, Samuel Cox, III. He is due another $5,000 from Smith & Nephew to settle his retaliation claim, and the company owes $3 million to Cox’s lawyers to cover his legal fees, court documents show.
Cox, a former IT director at Smith & Nephew’s Memphis, Tenn., facility, filed the lawsuit in December 2008 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee. The suit accused the company of breaking the Trade Agreements Act and False Claims Act by selling medical devices to the federal government that were manufactured in nondesignated countries.
While the devicemaker agreed to the settlement, it admitted no liability for the charges, court records show.

They also make trauma components in Malaysia. Looks like another opportunity to blow the whistle and make some $$$$ I wonder if the S&N executive jerk-off team are conditioned o grab their ankles every time they hear the whistle blow! What a visual.

Renasys died the day the FDA letter came out. It's forward march with the new wound pump, set to come out in 2015. Let's hope we can move that up about 4 months before we lose any more market share.

We cant move up the date...It has to go through FDA and you CANNOT expidite that process...obviously. Why would a multi-billion dollar company even mess with this division anymore. No plan for post acute, Acute hospitals wont take a chance, and our products are "made in Malaysia". Plus I told my hospitals to wait, it will be OK and S&N made me a liar. Convatec did this before and pulled out, I fully expect S&N to go the same route.

Seven months later and nothing! This is a hell of a paperwork snafu. We have been lied to and manipulated to think this was just a small issue that would be quickly resolved. This is a shit bag company run by a shady management team.

No duh.

Get your facts straight. Renasys was NEVER recalled. It was given a cease distribution hold by the FDA. I'm not playing semantics, but the Cease a Distribution hold is completely different than a recall. Regardless...upper management has continually lied to us regarding this products.
