just got a call from a recruiter. do ANY of you get close to $170K selling novasure?
No. Only making 130K at best.
Its done. Those days are gone-gone-gone. The 170K is including NovaSure "capital units" which to be honest...all of the capital NovaSure machines have already all been sold. The company is relying on the revenue stream from the disposables to hit your quota. If your quota for a territory is $500,000 every 90 days...goes up over 25% every quarter...not including capital...you are screwed. NovaSure has really hot in '04-'05...its a pharmacetical gig now. It sucks. Don't do it. Don't. Trust me.

I would HIGHLY advise you to seek employment elsewhere. This is a TERRIBLE company to work for. I am not bashing the product. The product is top notch but the people running the company from top down are complete assholes. They will make your life a living hell.
DO NOT TAKE THIS JOB!!!! Steve Williamson is the VP and he is a complete degenerate. If you haven't met him yet during the interview process you will. He is one of the biggest piece's of shit in the business world. He SHOULD NOT be in the position he is in. Way out of his league.

Ask your recruiter about the culture and environment at this hell hole. Curious to hear what they say. Do us all a favor and tell us on here what line of bullshit the recruiter feeds you.

Just a few things to consider. Quarterly quotas that can be manipulated to screw you when you do well. If you exceed quoata in one quarter they raise it to an unattainable level the next quarter so you dont make any commissions. Meanwhile under performers get no increase. Also when you dont hit the unattainable quota that management pulled out of their backsides they hammer you like its your fault for not hitting the insane, unrealistic number they gave you.
The quotas are nothing more than a tool used to make some look good and to kill the careers of others.
poor babies!!! most of you are people looking for a gravy train making 175K. Go to the cath lab selling a "me too" product and see what it's like trying to make money promoting something that everyone else has. My commission check last qtr was 42K. Yes the market is saturated when it comes to novasure but it takes a great rep to still grow the business and make money. Pharms reps are nothing more than Jason Deli delivery kids. Wake up. Sales isn't easy and neither is this job like the old days. Sack up and be a salesman you losers.

This is for the girl 2 posts ago bragging about the 42k commission check....Not sure who you are dissing pharma reps. I came from pharma to Cytyc and I'm making well over 6 figures. In fact, I can garuntee I will outsell you any day of the week. I agree that too many people complain about the company rather step up and do something about it. I'll tell you that the real issues are at the top. Lets put our hands together for Chris Duffy Wenzel, our new president of sales operations. She did a field ride with me once and actually bad mouthed reps right in front of me! What a great leader.

LMAO. This is the problem with the company. The "talent" they choose to promote. She is a dumb, weasly-looking, faker than a plastic boob, no capacity for independent thought, drone.

This board breaks my heart---I was part of the original Novacept start up---what a fantastic product. We were paid well for producing. The problem with all these companies is that once a product matures there is no reasonable expectations. They believe that the ramp up rate achieved in the early introduction of a product is a constant number. It just isn't. Novacept was sold on the ramp up factor. Cytyc Surgical incentivized their reps to continue that and sell on it.
The problem is---it is not sustainable. The hard work truly is on the introduction phase of a product but I agree it doesn't matter if you are a pharma rep or a med rep at this point the same expectations are just not sustainable.
So a company has either one of two choices---to continue to burn and churn people or to take the talent at the top and continually introduce new products that the same hyper growth ramp up can be achieved with.
It does the company absolutely no good to churn people--Novasure is a great product in fact and I may be partial "a best in class" product to build rock solid relationships with the obgyn community. I would hope Cytyc/Hologix would use this as a ramp to launch further advancements into the obgyn market.
There really is only two jobs in any corporation---sales and those who support the sales process----Be nice to these sales people---they are the future of any company

They have already lost some of the best people they ever had. I don't know if this company has any idea how to be nice to sales people.
You must be new and in a territory that was never worked. We will see how smug you are when they jack your quota into the Van allen belt next quarter.
You just have not been around long enough and if you have you must not have worked your territory completely. The problem with drum beaters like you is you don't know what you don't know. Look around you, you schmeckel the majority of this sales force is below plan even after a quota reduction. What does that tell you? Oh I forgot everyone in the sales force sucks except you. Haha, that previous post is hilarious and true. Oh well. I'm as guilty as anyone in the sense that I have posted on here previously but after thinking about it I have realized that it's easy to complain about everything but at least we have a job. I came to Cytyc to sell Novasure and I'm selling 2 diagnostic tests that are GREAT tests but I'm bored out of my mind. I've just decided to think positive and think at some point everything will change for the better. I hope you all can make an effort to do the same because thinking negatively, although it's easy to do, will get us nowhere. Lets keep our heads up and expect good things!!
