Position- How is the company?

who was your headhunter? initials only. also, who did you interview with? what did you tell them and how was their reaction?

I'm not giving initials. They were nice enough to interview me, and I won'twon't throw people under the bus like that

My HH was fine with it. She knows I have options, so she doesn't have much choice. Im with a regional lab so I'm kinda picky about what I want out of my next move

I interviewed recently for the expansion. Walked out, called my headhunter and said thanks but no thanks. Completely unimpressed w managers

you said you won't throw them under the bus, but above you stated you walked out and that you were unimpressed with managers. just wondering what exactly turned you off.

You are way too interested in this, but I'll indulge you just the same.

Making a blanket statement is not the same as naming initials where the intent is to identify, so I am not sure why you believe those statements are linked.

At this point, my memory is fuzzy (this was a while back). I remember that the interview was very boilerplate, when I was led to believe that this was a final set of F2F's before they made a decision, so a lot of time was wasted on resume and basic questions that I had already done in the phone interview (twice I think, actually). Then there were some questions about positioning, insurance coverage, and billing policies that weren't explained well, which is a red flag with me.

That's about it. Just seemed very disorganized and a bit sloppy. Chalking it up to rapid expansion from a startup. No big deal, just not for me :)

These dopes have no official interview training.

I just interviewed as well and should have walked out as well. I think the company is going somewhere but they need to work a lot of things out first. There was no indication that this was being done. First rule of hiring someone is Hire slow, fire fast. They don't follow that mantra at all. I have seen something similar before, bubble up the salesforce to look attractive for a potential sale. I was unimpressed by some of the individuals I met, others were very smart, knowledgeable, ect but too much between the two.

I found the Managed Care, coverage timeframe from test to answer also troubling. Furthermore, they dropped labs recently and from what I understand it was more about quality of test and lack of quick turn around, and less about costs (although said lab is all about costs).

The disorganized feel sometimes happens with small startups but I think they are at a size where they should be more organized. They are looking to get into Oncology as well, but the details are unclear and I think God forbid FDA doesn't approve (which could be a possibility) it would spell disaster for this company. Good luck to all those interviewing for the recent expansion. Do extensive homework and look before you leap, this grass seems to be a bit too brown for me on the other side.

PS: There was no mention of getting cake so I was disappointed.

Wow. Well said. I'm assuming you will not accept the offer if one is made. Too bad. From what I read you would have been a good asset. I wonder how many more like you they'll let slip by.

DC will provide the cake down the line as an additional motivator

You know the FDA doesn't need to approve anything in the lab space, correct? Just CLIA; so that's irrelevant.

It's actually VERY relevant, as the FDA is actively trying to regulate laboratory developed tests for tests that have serious clinical ramifications.

Might wanna stay up to date on that kinda stuff, chief.

Hi I was the OP that just interviewed and regarding the FDA shadow listed above.....If you think there won't be extra scrutiny regarding lab approvals and marketing, you are wrong. This is the next wave in the biomarker/testing swinging pendulum: Case study this just happened in the end of 2014:

Big news that will change approval/marketing process going forward.

And look at what they did with 23&Me genetic testing.

Hello Douchebag -- and you might to subscribe to dark Daily -- its free and given your knowledge you have to be a poor earner. All LDT reviews will take years and Congress will be involved lengthening the process further.

The 23andme was direct to consumer marketing and doesn't involve the lab tests here. So, stick your head back up your fat arse!

I only want to know one thing...........IS YOUR HEAD UP YOUR ASS FOR THE WARMTH?
