Phone Screening for Flex Position

recruiter i spoke to said "35 is the average" salary. some sales person you must be- if you don't ask- you dont get. the worst someone is going to say is no, thats too much- great- then give me less- but at least you ask. id rather ask and be shut down, then possibly walk away from a few more thousand dollars per year.

Was your recruiter an "in house" recruiter from Ventiv, or from outside the company? I'd be leary of that statement if your recruiter wasn't from InVentiv.

in house. what did yours tell you the salary was?

I was also told "The average is 35k" by an in house recruiter.

Was told the week of May 14th will be the week of interviews. It's one interview with Ventiv and Depomed manager - and they make the decision that day.

June 11 is first day of a week of home study. The following is a week away at training.

were you contacted for an interview by the mmanager?

Was told she (Ventiv in house recruiter) would be sending summary of candidates to DepoMed manager. DepoMed manager would select 3 candidates to interview. Then I would be contacted by someone else with Ventiv that would give me further info regarding flight arrangements etc., for interview in Dallas.

So no, and I don't think the DepoMed manager has received all the resumes yet as I just had my phone screen today. Probably has other phone screening appointments scheduled for the next couple days.

I'm not trying to sound pompous- but why three candidates for a flex position? seriously? people that come from full time big pharma and are award winners should easily take the cake over no one with experience. what area of the country are you in?

was told to sight tight and this week or next week will call to confirm interviews in Texas.

what else do you know wise flex rep???
have you ever worked a flex position before or only full time?

Sending 3 candidates doesn't surprise me given the screening call was so basic. No questions like "tell us a time you had an obstacle at work and how you overcame it, blah, blah, blah". This will be your first, second, and third interview wrapped into one.

My guess is DepoMed is a small company - send everyone to one place - it's more convenient. Send top 3 candidates because you may not click with someone, or someone might "forget" to bring documentation of their achievements, etc.

I've only worked full time. I'm in the Southwest.

does anyone have their face to face schedule yet? I spoke with the recruiter once, and was told another would call me...but I'm waiting !!! Anyone have a face to face scheduled????
