I got into the industry in 1984. At that time Merck was a respected company and every rep wanted to work for Merck. Things got really nasty in the 90’s when Celebrex came out and Merck reps were sending anonymous faxes to Drs offices about a few patients getting ill on Celebrex in order to promote Vioxx. Then when Vioxx was withdrwawn from the Market, Merck had egg on its face...And today Merck is just another company...Mailing a handwritten letter to each of your physicians expressing appreciation and gratitude will most likely strengthen your relationships. Want to take it a step further? Try sending the letter USPS Priority Mail. Who doesn't open a handwritten envelope or priority mail?

There is nothing ridiculous about saluting our customers during this time of uncertainty. Are you jealous that you don't have the strong relationships with customers that I do? I beg to differ. The only ones who can save us from coronavirus are the evil greedy pharmaceutical companies! Treatments will be available soon and a vaccine next year. Pharmaceutical companies have an opportunity to be heroes and if all goes well, we will be welcome back with open arms into Universities, Government Accounts etc. This could be the return of the golden age...
The only thing that will save US is science, so I tend to agree with the poster, frankly the reliance on science can’t hurt and can only help the industry, as science/pharma will be the hero that eradicates this catastrophe.I beg to differ. During this challenging time I refuse to give in to the negativity. I choose to focus on optimism and being a positive source even if it has to be from social distance or virtually.
