Performance -based coaching

What the heck did the managers come out with from California with this performance based coaching? What is it? What’s it mean?
My ABL was quick to send message out about how excited he was about it.
Great. What micromanaging are we adding to the list?

Haven’t heard from my ABL yet but from what I have learned is that managers will need to have ongoing coaching sessions around performance. So if you aren’t at goal the manager has been consistently addressing it and there will be no surprise when you get a negative review or are put on a plan. This should go over really well with the sales team

And this is all based on incorrect Leqvio data.

Some moron from the HO came up with this silly little exercise that will fade into oblivion like all the rest before it. I have seen it all, and I won’t change a damn thing for these stupid idiots. I will continue to fake calls when necessary and lie when appropriate. Nothing changes at big pharma!

Can’t wait for new model… I’m eager to learn… teach me. Teach me

You can't be at goal.
There is no territory goal.
It does not exist.
If you are a Leqvio lead you cannot be judged as an individual.
That has been the case from day one.
If Dez's ignorant ass wants to hold us accountable, he might want to start by having territorial goals.

Nailed it!!!!
Some of us have Entresto 70%’and these idiots still believe that Paraglide will make a big change in prescribing behavior, amidst sglts2, donut hole, etc time.

leqvio reps- true. But our manager wants to know every week from the Leqvio leads how many patients were submitted to Leqvio center to their best knowledge.

That is not a goal.
That is not performance.
That is not something that anybody is paid on.
That is a simplistic manager grasping for straws. Haven't they figured out that you'll just fabricate whatever number they expect to hear in order to get them to leave you alone?
Dez would be an embarrassment in a functional environment.
A man who has complete belief that performance is tied to call activity is hopelessly vapid and destined to fail.
I hope Dez saw that $55M number for Leqvio and realized its his fault. His and Duane's.
He's too fucking arrogant to understand that shitty data, no territory goals and no bonus payout killed the brand.
How anyone could believe calls metrics, extra field days and guessing how many syringes a doctor used in a given week would fix things is beyond the comprehension of any reasonable person.

Another example how Novartis continues to gaslight and disrespect its employees. Desperate circumstances demand desperate measures from a company that refuses to acknowledge its constant bad decision making. And who suffers? The sales team. ABL’s micromanaging their people more is only going to make a very bad situation worse. I’m sure it’s all part of the plan to incentivize people to leave. More attrition equals less severance packages to pay.

Get ready it's going to be really bad next year. My manager said our autonomy is over. You will be checking in a few times a week and more field rides. Dez is the guy pushing all this. They must want us to quit.

I don't think Dez, Jeff, Sandeep or your A.B.L. cares if you quit or not; after all, they are inexplicably still backfilling vacancies.
What they do care about is not spending the money to get consistent, accurate Leqvio data, and not spending money on bonuses and incentives that would wake up the field force again.
Sending the managers out five days a week won't do it. Dez should be mature and realistic enough to understand that by now.
Expecting call averages to be hit won't do it. Dez should be mature and realistic enough to realize this as well.
He can throw every draconian tactic imaginable at the sales teams, but none of them will have any material impact. The only way to improve field engagement is to improve the bonus structure and legitimately hold each territory accountable for their performance.
Until he finally swallows his pride and accepts that you can't strong-arm people into caring, C.V. will continue to circle the drain.

This isn’t only CV. It’s every sales force as far as metrics goes but for some reason it seems the neuroscience team is not part of this (lower call average and managers not in the field as much). I can’t wait until offices start banning the managers from coming in. Wake up leadership you are just hurting our relationships with customers the more you force the managers to be in the field

PS forgot to add - was this five day a week fiend rides and weekly check ins part of some plan designed by yes another useless consultant company?

You got that right- they aren’t going to bully us into caring more, they’re currently bullying us into caring less. I would also add the number of field rides is inversely proportional to motivation. Nothing says, “We don’t trust or value you” like a 3 day ride along.
I’m finally going to polish up the resume and go somewhere I’m appreciated. I only regret that I’ve sold so much Leqvio for a company that will never really pay me for it. The go getter will go get it somewhere else and Novartis will keep the ones it deserves.

They start doing 3 day field rides. Most of us will take the next week off on Novartis. The more they fuck us the more we fuck them back. They can't fire everyone,

What’s wrong with you people? Haven’t you all become members of the ALL DAY LIE made famous at AZ many, many years ago??? I have been a member for at least a decade and love it! 75% of my calls are lies and are the “sign here doc”, and the other 25% are maybe 30 seconds. NO, they don’t trust us and for good reason, because we are all liars and cheats! At least I will admit it, will you?

3 day field rides will rat out all of us, maybe even me, but I doubt it. JUST IMAGINE THIS NIGHTMARE SCENARIO, YOUR MANAGER CALLS YOU THE NIGHT BEFORE WANTING TO HAVE A 2 DAY RIDE STARTING THE FOLLOWING MORNING!! We would all shit our pants! Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that!

My manager does that shit all the time. Not a problem for me, because I actually work, but it sure makes me hate this company and him. I work my ass off, have sales to prove it and any company/manager that can’t appreciate sales success doesn’t deserve my effort. I’m out as soon as the right opportunity pops up.
