Come on folks that insist on staying until the end...the "career" is so
dead...finished!!

The Chinese have a saying that translates roughly into "When you have
finished the last chapter of the book, it is time to close it."

You can all keep your dumb drug rep jobs for the nice steady paycheck, but
know this if you do...(And are too chicken to leave and get a real job.)

You will just become older, less marketable, and more desperate the longer
you try and hang on at Merck...This job does not translate into any other profession
other than being a drug rep at another company or a caterer...(UPS will not even
hire most of us.)

Drug companies realize they don't want or need experienced reps anymore...they
just want cheap clueless kids, because they (the executives) profit no matter what...

And is it any wonder a Marxist was able to sieze the WH??

And is it any wonder a Marxist was able to sieze the WH?? [QOUTE]

Had this president been properly "vetted", he would not have qualified as a candidate. The thought of him winning a re-election is frightening. We have people at two ends of the spectrum supporting this Marxist tyrant: successful, educated people who are nonetheless clueless, as well as uneducated and/or lazy people who are the dependents living off of the rest of society (i.e., the 50% who don't pay taxes). The only explanation why Obama can prevail is that the middle-class is outnumbered by parasites and elitists. It has long been said that this country is going down the drain. Scary and frustrating to see the demise of what once was the greatest country in the world.

So true....people see this and shutter.

2012 elections cannot come soon enough....

Only a bit ironic that this Marxist president is supporting policy that is almost directly in line with what the Republicans in the Senate were proposing in the early nineties. Your concept of the middle class is also interesting. I can very well imagine that the further up the wealth scale one goes, the higher class one's definition of parasites becomes. If you wish to feel smug and keep looking down upon the future parasites of America you better hope to be in the top 20% of wealth and not be retired or get sick. And even then perhaps some day when your brain gets irreparably addled you will be cared for in long-term care by a staff of such parasites. Served cold is always better.

couldn't agree more. All these rabid haters of Obama haven't got a clue. If anything, BO has been a clone of GWB.

It amazes me the anger towards the poor or even lower middle class. Yet, the rich, the real rich are getting away with shipping our manufacturing jobs overseas, cutting our service jobs here and pocketing profits like never before.

Seems to me, the lemmings here want another Fred Hassan to come in, give them $ for a couple of years but don't want to look at the fact he's the reason we are all in this situation.

It's not the rich peoples problem that our government has one of the highest corporate tax rates in the world. You act like all the jobs are going to Mexico. Google, Pfizer, Apple and Merck have all set up shop in several Euro like locations because the companies can invest in these companies without being bloodgened financially. Take a look at Ireland. Why would you move money back to the US to create jobs if your going to be taxed at 19% vs. say Ireland at 6%? It's our governments fault along with American workers sense of entitlement. Unions helped create that problem. $30 an hour for a factory worker with a GED isn't a fair.market value. Instead of creating white collar jobs that pay 100k a year Obama wants to create 30k jobs with construction? Infrastructure? Recognize who pays the bulk in taxes. Many of the 100k class are now out of work......its sad but our government has failed to attract the large corporations from reinvesting in todays American worker.

Take a look again-Ireland is having a dreadful time with the recession. All those jobs that went over there because of the tax haven have failed. Merck, Pfizer, Biogen, all of the biopharma have been leaving 'en masse.' Ditto for sites in Puerto Rico.

Tax breaks for the rich industries only let them dodge the cost for a few years then they move the job around to a new location. Take a look at, Zug, the new 'haven' for tax dodging: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/03/25/60minutes/main20046867.shtml

Unions at fault? They're the only reason a middle class grew in this country. They allowed for wealth sharing when profits flowed into corporations.

If you really think corporations have the 'best' interest of their employees-take a look around here. They don't care. It is just business when they let people go.

Sure, Cisco's announcement of 15% cut is for the workers?!

Where are you getting your political ideology from? I guarantee none of us make enough money to benefit from Republican Reganomics. The trickledown effect does not work. The top 5% of this country continue to get richer and everyone else suffers. You are not in the upper eschelon of our economy. Why do you want to continue to support massive tax cuts for them? I would encourage you to look realistically at your economic situation before aligning yourself with an economic plan.

very accurate and intellient post...so true.

I never thought I would see the demise of American in my lifetime...and the speed with which it is failing is frightening...

Are you saying that one is lazy, if they dont pay taxes? Be logical, if 50% of the nation pays no taxes, and 17% of americans are below poverty (poor), and 66% are middle-upper middle class, then approximately 35% of middle class people pay no federal taxes.

In fact, I have made upwards of 100k and paid LITTLE OR NO NO FEDERAL TAXES. Lets see, I deduct my alimony, my home interest, child care, medical, church contributions, state taxes, home taxes, 401k contributions. The list goes on and on.

Maybe you are confusing paying taxes, with withholding of taxes by your employer. The bottom line is that if you have 15,000 withheld, and get a refund for 15,000, YOU PAID NO FEDERAL TAXES. BTW, social security withholding is not a tax . I grew up dirt poor, on welfare etc. I was shocked to see for example, that one of the biggest welfare programs going is the home interest deduction.

Be careful when you imply that poor, means lazy, or that low taxes means poor or lazy. Most working poor work much, much, harder than you do, literally, and make much less. Think of that person that works fast food! If you have evere tried it, you know that it is grueling.

So Ireland is a bastion of economic success? They are a mess! they have among the worst economies in the worlds, they are part of the PIGS in Europe (Portugal, Ireland, Greece, Spain). The bottom line, is that or rates are high, but the effective rates are low. For example, did you know that 66% of ALL US corporations, and 68% of foreign corporations, doing business in the US, pay NO (ZERO) federal taxes? Here is a link to a NY Times Article:

http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2008/08/13/study-tallies-corporations-not-paying-income-tax/

Exxon (No Taxes), General Electric (No Taxes), Bank of America (No Taxes), the list goes on and on. We should lower the rates (agreed), then eliminate all loop holes. They will all then pay taxes.

Oh, I see, the 30 hr factory worker is bad, but the 100k drug rep that works part-time and mainly delivers lunches is essential. Come on, give me a break. You are a rep, and you dare to call others over paid? You are the pot calling the kettle black.

Oh no doubt that as a rep I'm over paid but that's not because of a union. However I stimulate the economy wwith my spending a hell of a lot more than someone who's making 30k and I'm paying a lot more in taxes. So you tell me who hurts the economy more when both of us lose our jobs. My point was that these bozos in wash dc both parties aren't smart enough how to figure it how to grow this economy or job market. The above poster with the link makes a decent point. Our governments tax rate and their lack of holding companies accountable for moving business over seas is the main issue. We will probably find out soon enough. My goal wasn't to disrespect the lower paid American it was to simply ask what are they doing in wash dc for the white collar workers?

Collectively, there are more 30Hr folks, so collectively they likely contribute more. They have lower rates, but also have far fewer deductions. You would be surprised at the tax comparison. Now if we had a flat tax, that changes everything.

Please enlighten us on the 401K deduction. The salary max limits to take this deduction are extremely low, around 55000 for married filing jointly, 36000 for singles. I would venture to say that if you are indeed a sales rep here, you are making more than this in salary.......just saying.

Yes, he told us in advance what he planned to do. Few were listening.

The following is a narrative taken from a 2008 Sunday morning televised "Meet The Press'.

From Sunday's 07 Sept. 2008 11:48:04 EST, Televised "Meet the Press" THE THEN Senator Obama was asked about his stance on the American Flag.

General Bill Ginn' USAF (ret.) asked Obama to explain WHY he doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.

The General stated to Obama that according to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171...

During rendition of the national anthem, when the flag is displayed, all present (except those in uniform) are expected to stand at attention facing the flag with the right hand over the heart. Or, at the very least, "Stand and Face It".

NOW GET THIS !!

'Senator' Obama replied:

"As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking sides". "There are a lot of people in the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression.." "The anthem itself conveys a war-like message. You know, the bombs bursting in air and all that sort of thing."

(ARE YOU READY FOR THIS???)

Obama continued: "The National Anthem should be 'swapped' for something less parochial and less bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like To Teach the World To Sing'. If that were our anthem, then, I might salute it. In my opinion, we should consider reinventing our National Anthem as well as 'redesign' our Flag to better offer our enemies hope and love. It's my intention, if elected, to disarm America to the level of acceptance to our Middle East Brethren. If we, as a Nation of waring people, conduct ourselves like the nations of Islam, where peace prevails - - - perhaps a state or period of mutual accord could exist between our governments ......"

When I become President, I will seek a pact of agreement to end hostilities between those who have been at war or in a state of enmity, and a freedom from disquieting oppressive thoughts. We as a Nation, have placed upon the nations ofIslam, an unfair injustice which is WHY my wife disrespects the Flag and she and I have attended several flag burning ceremonies in the past".

"Of course now, I have found myself about to become the President of the United States and I have put my hatred aside. I will use my power to bring CHANGE to this Nation, and offer the people a new path..My wife and I look forward to becoming our Country's First black Family. Indeed, CHANGE is about to overwhelm the United States of America "

WHAAAAAAAT, the Hell is that???

Yes, you read it right.

I, for one, am speechless!!!
