BMS no longer provides good medical coverage-to keep BMS coverage as a retiree will cost a couple $1200-2000 a month. There goes half your pension if you have been around for 25 years.

Yep, and it's even worse if you still have a child. Try over $2000/month. Yet, BMS will still probably make that list of best places for women to work. Just don't make the mistake of working there until you are 50, get laid off, and then find you cannot get hired back in the industry because they don't want people over 50. Then you have no health insurance. I guess you can then go on Obama's new entitlement coverage, which is basically Medicaid, but good luck finding a doctor that will accept it.

Oh, is this going to be a thread about people who retired in their late 50s and then whine about the fact that they dont get subsizied health care from BMS after they leave?

And now we have the added wrinkle of the ACA that allows one to get health care outside of employers at group rates, but those 'self sufficient' retired people disparage it as socialism.

Let me tell y'all what it's like
Being male, middle-class and white
It's a bitch, if you don't believe
Listen up to my new CD, sham on

I got shit runnin' through my brain
It's so intense that I can't explain
All alone in my white-boy pain
Shake your booty while the band complains

True story....I know a lousy rep....HR nightmare.....was let go (fired from Sanofi) not severed, worked 18 months for Eiasi, got severed in a downsize and just got a job with some small patch company and he is 63 years old.... all in the last 5 years..and he is not worth a damn
There are jobs out there is my point

Why all the worry? Obamacare is going to take care of all of us. "if you like your plan/doctor, you can keep them". He would'nt lie, he is our savior. FOUR MORE YEARS!!!!!!

First off, I feel your pain. I planned on retiring while I could still enjoy it too. Things happen that you don't expect. That's life!! Don't take their healthcare. They're self insured. In fact, you would be rewarding them if you do accept it. Get out there and try to find something else. Not something similar. Something else with health coverage. Screw 'em! Don't burn up your pension on these assholes!!

HR rep here. It's you elders who made BMS what it is. An old, disgruntled sales force who are overcompensated and here because there's no where else for you to go. Look around at who got cut last time. People on LOC and higher tenured reps. Over 50 and or plus 15 years puts a target on your head. We can hire 2 new fully qualified, experienced and hungry sales reps in their 30's for the cost of you dragging down BMS. It's in your future. Believe it.

Actually, more specifically... We will hire ONE fully qualified, exierienced and hungry rep in their 30's and pocket the change. We get a better employee who works harder and costs less. You do the math.

Yeah, right. Like HR is going to post anything here, especially the age discrimination bit. That's laughable.

Yeah, that coverage will probably end up actually being Medicaid, and good luck finding a doctor to see you.

I find it humorous that "HR" replies to any thread on this board...bottom line this company needs less HR employees as it loses employees in other areas. The truth is this company thinks its a lot better than it actually is. Name 3 drugs that have made it to market that were worth a shit that were developed by BMS in the last 3 years,5 years, Hell lets make it 15 years. A once well respected company is swirling down the drain. By the way getting health insurance on the open market is less expensive...may have higher deductibles, copays, but that's the risk you take ...pay me now or pay me later.

Fiction...there is no (or very few) such thing as a "hungry sales rep in teir 30's", self absorbed video texting kids with no loyalty, sales skills or work ethic....a"get by" mentality...they are faceless ghosts in Doc's offices...a dime a dozen to the customer..with no rapore and less access

It's rapport.

Please! I have been waiting for this to happen for 28 years! Here...I just placed the "target" on my forehead...can you see it? Take aim and fire my ass!
